I've owned a 2014 NC700X I bought new, an XT250, and my son had an XT225.
If the NC fits her well ergonomically, then it sounds like she'll love it. The power is smooth, highway speeds are just fine, is a very stable ride. I recommend a longer test ride (at least 20 minutes), as the ergo...
Ah... All the ones I've bought are full covers and none have had a heat resistant panel. But then I but cheap.

Someone posted about 3 years ago (on this forum?) about a melted dashboard spot. The sunlight had passed through the windscreen which acted like a magnifying glass to concentrate the light onto a single spot. I guess it was just long enough.
Regardless, I'd pick shade, especially with my black...
I appreciate your report. I've been on the fence. I see in the other thread that you did bar risers and moved pegs. I like the thought if that backrest OCR talks about.
Oof, glad you are OK. I could not see the video, though. It says "The page you requested cannot be displayed right now. It may be temporarily unavailable, the link you clicked on may be broken or expired, or you may not have permission to view this page."
Maybe Facebook just won't give it up to...
It's not time for a new lid for me, but I do like this one. Any thoughts on pricing forecast? I found a good deal on Scorpion gear before (street jacket), only to see the prices skyrocket on the product later.
Do you think the current prices will hold even if this sells well?
Funny. I was thinking the same thing... My black 2014 needs a bath. The little touch ups I do occasionally aren't doing the job. This really is a beautiful bike, especially when new and shiny. Very good looking pictures. Congratulations and best wishes for many safe miles and adventures.
Nice, supertux. I do love those Michelins. I have a new PR4 front waiting to be mounted, but I'm putting it off as long as possible. I'm somewhere around 10,000 miles on the stock TrailMax/CheeseMax, so I guess it's done pretty well, mostly commuting and Texas Hill Country miles. I put a PR4 on...
As far as I recall, the only difference between the 12 and 14 is a newer dash display on the 14, when they added a gear indicator.
I've no experience with them, but there seem to be some aftermarket options for the pre-2014 models...
^ this. I'm 6'2" and love this bike, commute fairly often, and do some 150-250-mile rides. I find myself making excuses for the bike to mentally get over the discomfort. I love much about the bike (frunk, economy, handling, reliability, overall size/power, my confidence on it) and have...
I'm just south of Bulverde and enjoy the hill country occasionally. My riding tends to be less planned and more spontaneous though. But i would love to see your new 2016 X with that fancy dashboard. Mine is a 2014 boring monochrome display.

I learned this lesson too when I plugged a small air pump into it and it blew out immediately. What a useless "utility" with a 1-amp fuse! What were the Honda engineers thinking?
Anyway, I paid the dealer (only about $100, guess I got a better deal) to replace the fuse, but didn't think at...
I shift into second from stops at intersections but it is comfortable. In city intersections, I usually move through in second which feels perfect for the NC.
In contrast, on my Yamaha VStar 1300, I sometimes can't decide whether to be in first or second, depending on the speed. It has much...
I am thinking about trying to make some custom deflectors to deal with the tremendous amount of wind coming in between the madstad windscreen and deflectors. This wind hits my chest and rolls up into my helmet. Very loud (low frequencies and pressure)... Headache-inducing.
Can you post some...
Be careful with the Skene controller and those D2 lights. Skene warns that they don't work with Dx and D4 lights, but they may be OK with the D2. Probably want to double check that first if you're leading that route.
I don't have any auxiliary lights yet but have heard people (with other bikes)...
Hi Mike, so glad to hear you and your passenger are happy with your Touring after a good number of miles! My wife complained a little about the stock seat, but when my 13 yo also said something, I knew it had to be really bad.
Interesting about the gel. I paid an extra $88 (roughly) for the gel...
Thanks for that super great write-up, 670! Keeping my fingers crossed that this will save me from jettisoning the NC, because I like the bike so much, otherwise.
Is it a good assumption that your Saddlemen doesn't have the gel? I didn't see any mention of it from pismo.
Also, did you use the...
