You can search the Shad comfort seat thread to get a flavor- their level of "customer service" is documented there. I ordered from them anyway. On 7-30-14 I purchased a display model seat- I still have the email plainly stating that it would ship later that day, and I would receive a tracking # later that day. My credit card was charged that day. Even at that,I gave them a week before starting to email them about the status of the order. I have received a couple of responses in that time ( few compared to the # of emails I have sent them)-it has been taking them an average of 2 days to respond. Their responses are apologetic with promises to look into it and send me an update. it has been 3 days since the last response. I have tried numerous times to call them, and have yet to speak to a live person- they are apparently geared toward "leave a message" or "send an email". This has been the single worst buying experience ever for me, and although I like Shad products, I can't ever recommend to North American members on this forum to buy from Shad USA. I would like to just cancel the order, even though I really want the seat, but since my card has already been charged, I'm worried about what kind of nightmare (judging by the way they operate so far) getting it credited back would entail.

Can't you complain with your creditcard company and tell them to sort it? I always figured that specifically was part of their service they provide?

Just dispute the bill from the credit card company. Tell them you have not received what you purchased. Once Shad sees the money go away they will call you. But if you really want it I guess you will just have to wait.

I have done that after I have received a faulty product and could not get any response to fix the problem. Once their money is gone it is amazing how quickly they call. That is one reason I never use a debit card. A credit card leaves you recourse.

If you just want your money back, dispute the charge with your card issuer and you're done. If you just want Shad to stop dorking around and send you the seat, send them an email stating that you are about to dispute the charge with your card issuer they don't ship within <insert your time period here>. This almost always works to set a fire under a retailer's butt, because credit card charge-backs are bad for business. If enough customers request charge-backs for a business, Visa/MC/Amex will block that company from using their network.

Thanks - that sounds like a great way to go. The regular emails sure aren't having any effect. I can at least give them that one final chance before I dispute the charge.

I was looking at shad web sight and looked up dealers near me.found one at iron pony.now would they have the same problems to get a seat?maybe I should call.

Ziggie,
I would call Iron Pony to see if they stock the Shad Touring Seat for the NC700, or if they have to order it from Shad. A lot of motorcycle parts suppliers do not keep an inventory of expensive items, choosing to let the manufacturer carry the inventory until the reseller gets an order for the item. A phone call is cheap insurance to avoid a Shad fiasco.

I will give them a call, maybe they won't have the same problem.if so I have been looking at a Corban maybe.

Sorry you had a problem......My experience with them was just the opposite...great customer service from them!
That's mainly why I posted this - I'm usually really patient about things like this. If they had a stellar reputation for customer service , I would've just chalked it up to bad luck and rolled with it. But several have posted about having problems with them, and I felt it was good idea to tell it as a warning to others. I think ordering from them is a gamble. Most probably won't have a problem , but the risk is there.

Well, the email giving them an ultimatum didn't work either- no response . And their phone # goes straight to "leave a message" for the 2nd day in row. So I just got finished calling my credit card company and taking their money away. Will update if they ever do respond or I get the seat. I'm not expecting much, though.

Yeah, the tracking # isn't actually working yet, so I'm still skeptical. The one from Madstad is though:cool:- ordered it LATE Wednesday night, shipped in less than 48 hours. That's how it done right there:)

When I shipped the center stands as soon as I went on line and printed the label there was a tracking number. I could have scheduled pickups everyday or once a week. I always dropped packages off to the shipper same day but I could have waited as long as I wanted. I just ordered some dry bags and received a notice that they where shipped and an estimated delivery date. I followed up on the shipment and found they actually shipped it two days after the latest delivery date. I will be sending them back for refund as soon as they get here. I bought another set from another vendor yesterday and they will be here tomorrow.
