I just returned from a 7-day 3115 mile journey to Seattle, down the Pacific coast, to San Francisco and back. I'll put together a ride report. I'm pooped.

I'm pretty sure it's so he can tell his NC apart from all the others in town. ;-)

That's why my new lowering links are such a sporty shade of red...

I ripped out the Scorpio i900R alarm. For the second time in a week, it refused to arm. For the second time, I pulled the plastics off, checked all the connectors and it still wouldn't work.
I think the RFID unit is toast, because before it started malfunctioning, it triggered when I started the bike, whereas it normally disarms itself if the RFID remote is in range.
I'll eventually get bored and hook it up to a battery on the test bench and email Scorpio but I'm not messing with it while the weather is good.

Oh, I ordered a set of Givi 37L Trekker Outback Side Cases and associated mounting hardware, plus the waterproof bags, nets, carry handle and jerry can mounts for them.
Got it all from motostrom.it at like half the price of what RevZilla and others are asking, even with the $50 for shipping and foreign paypal fee. Hopefully they'll ship soon.
I left like four reviews there and got coupon codes worth $85 off!

Those fork guards are well worth fitting and I had them on my NC. You might need to twist them slightly inwards as there is a marginal risk that they could make contact with the underside of the beak on full fork compression under heavy braking if you also hit a bump.

I put in the Cogent fun pack: DDCs along with new springs, fork oil, and a new rear shock. While I was doing that, I checked the valves (no change in the last 10,000 miles), changed the coolant and air filter, and adjusted the chain.

I hate working on the bike in July in Florida, but the rear shock was shot at 27,000 miles. At least I think it was. I found the rear bouncing some and the bike would feel squishy in the very rare Florida curve.
