Met a dude named Dan with the CSC RX3, a little 250cc adv bike imported by CSC. He has 33,000 miles on his and truly rides offload. He's going to take it from Ohio to South America and go for a years trip next year. (there is a whole thread on ADV rider)

385 lbs (dry)
Steel frame (easy to get welding on steel done on the road)
The motor is pretty torquey and pulls the bike up to 85 mph with 6 gears.
I think they run under $4000.
He added a custom exhaust and I think that's about it. He said motor has been flawless for all 33,000 miles.
Might be a cheap contender.
In most ways the CSC is a bargain for someone wanting to get what they need to get out riding and camping without spending a lot to start with, and as I recall it's got ADV-styled seat height. But among other things, it's a mild-tuned 250cc machine, and is in no way going to be as fast/quick as some other 250cc dualsports with a little more power. Really, none of those are quite as quick as simiilar-displacement machines with aerodynamic full fairings and it's not as off-road capable as the dualsports that have deeper suspensions and more ground clearance.
I really like my Vessys X 300. Keeping my NC, but Versys may get more use. This is the best video for the lower CC adv bikes I've seen. Surprised at the little Versys, seems better than I expected!

Funny thing, she like to drop harder on the vulnerable side. Hence the reinforcement:It helps keep the bars straight to alternate drops lol. I need to drop mine on the left side at some point...
