Adjustable lowering links. How long do I want them for 1" lower?

Does making them longer than stock or shorter than stock lower the bike? Is there a ratio? like .5" longer = 1" lowered, or raised. etc etc.
I believe that longer is lower. I will go look tomorrow as I have two lowered to different heights in the garage.

This winter I plan to remove my adjustable lowering links. I'll make some measurement and comparisons then and report. I do remember I lowered it as far as it would go before the tire hit the inner fender. The reason I want to pull them is, they are cheap chinese, and after 2 salty winters, I worry about the heim joints snapping. I plan to replace the heim joints with some nice stainless ones, and put the links back in service with a little less lowering.

Do you guys use centerstands?
Yes, one bike has normal center stand. Hard to pivot up for my daughter bit with practice she can now do it. The DCT my other daughter has has a NC700S center stand and it is perfect for a lowered bike. Very easy to put up.

I have two bikes using these. Very good quality. You can make the slightest adjustment and not have to remove the link. Took me 25 minutes to install. Have someone pivot the bike up onto the kickstand and front tire. This unloads the rear suspension. With bolts already loosened you slide them out and replace the dog bones and then reinstall the bolts. Lower bike and tighten back up. Lower as necessary while person is on the bike.

When was the NC700S imported. I don't see the parts did he at my normal source.

The NC700S has never been sold in the United States.

You can purchase the NC700S main stand from the Japanese source Web!ke.com

I saw that at Weblike, but it indicated fitment for all of the 700's, so I thought it was the same length as the X.

I believe that the 700S stand has a bit narrower stance if that matters to you. I can measure the difference if you would like me to?

In fact, we just ordered the S centerstand from Web!ke and the stopper, too- her NC has a Two Brothers noisemaker.
The OEM centerstand wasn't easy before the lowering, and it's murder now.
The S stand is allegedly due in four more days. Must be a pretty fast boat.
We salute 670cc for the pointer.

Besides checking for tire/fender clearance don't forget that lowering the bike will also reduce vertical and leaned-over ground clearance.

CTX owners have reported some issues with the available center stand stops that bolt to the pivot bracket on the frame, mostly it sounds like the bolt in the stop or the bolt holding the stop to the frame is a bit small or soft.

I made my own and bolted it to the upper frame plate rather than using the bolt that retains the center stand pivot spindle. This way all the retaining bolt does is keep the stop from falling off when the stand is down, the flat plate on the frame is what takes the thrust when the stand is up. It may be overkill, but it gives me peace of mind.
