Greywolf............of Stromtroopers

The infamous Guru of Vstroms, "Greywolf" has left us this week..........fallen to Pancreatic Cancer. I know a few on here have owned Vstroms in the past, and I'm sure you used Greywolf's knowledge base at one time or another. The guy knew every single nut and bolt on a Vstrom.......and their torque values!! he will be greatly missed............

Thanks for posting. I remember Greywolf on the Vstrom forum since I got my Vstrom 650 in 2007. Very helpful guy & I learned a lot from reading his posts. I hadn't logged in for awhile but last time I did I read he had passed & I didn't know why. I still have the Strom for now but at 62 I can no longer pick it up when I drop it so I just got an NC700X.

Not sure that a NC will be any easier to pick up. I have a 16 Strom and I recently found out that my X-Adv is 10kg heavier  I suspect that as such the NC will probably be the same weight as a Strom ?

NC is much easier to pick up. My '07 Strom was only 22 pounds heavier but the weight is up high. Much lower center of gravity on the NC. I should clarify; I haven't dropped my new NC yet. I held the handlebars, squatted down & raised up before I bought it. No problem. I can't do that with the Strom. Still wearing a wrist brace from the last drop, which broke off a $104 starter button. Paid a guy to help me lift it.
