upgrade 2021?

Cruise control is really the only thing the NC lacks that can't be easily done by the rider.

I've often cursed Honda for the bazooper windshield, but I suppose it's my fault for never upgrading it
The rest of the bike has nailed the purpose it was designed for. I love my Honda Jazz engine

Yes, they should have upgraded something instead of giving the new models traction control.

If they keep the internals the same (most likely) I would like to see what they could do about making the bike have fewer nook and crannies. Every time I wash my bike it takes forever to dry! All those lines in the new fairing and body collect so much water. It takes 5 minutes to get all the water out of the windscreen. I don't expect them to give the NC better suspension, seats, more storage or much more cc's. Not their nature to improve bikes that much.

I was looking at photos of the old Katana 600 and the Hurricane 600 with those curves. One pass of the chamois and you're done drying it!

I’m a bit of a “grumpy old man” who believes in old school simplicity. I am not of fan of keyless. Too many stories of dead batteries and lost or cranky fobs. More electronics just seems like more failure points.... I know... call me boomer. Heck, I just sold my 2015 bike and now I’m left with a 2005 and a 2011. Lower tech suits me. To each their own..

AGREE WITH YOU ON ALL THIS STUFF. I've got a 2018 and Honda added a selectable traction control button (never use it). No need for Keyless. No need for a fancier dash, blah blah blah

But the one thing I would actually like is cruise control.

Regarding cruise control, it would seem to be a very easy add on for Honda if the NC was already throttle by wire. Since the NC is not throttle by wire, adding cruise control would involve a liitle more complexity that I can‘t see Honda doing. Is the demand for cruise high enough that it could increase sales of the NC? I doubt it would for now, but maybe in the next all new version of the NC, we will see cruise control.

I have cruise control on my Goldwing, and very rarely use it. When towing a trailer with my truck, or driving my motorhome, I don’t use the cruise. Typical cruise controls are just so dumb that they really annoy me. I wish they would modernize the logic behind cruise systems, and give the vehicle owner the ability to configure the cruise with user preference settings.

I'd be entering all those corners hot ; } – either that or having to reactivate the cruise control over and over and over.

I use a cheap electric leaf blower to dry my bikes after a wash. Streak free and fast.

I wholeheartedly agree. My wife's CRV infotainment / HVAC system always has some sort of glitch, takes forever to pair a phone, freezes, etc.... One of the reasons I bought my GTI, is because it has buttons, switches and knobs, rather than a touchscreen. I would rather keep things "analog" and simple. I am not a boomer, rather a Gen Xer and I get your comment 100%.

I have an electronic cruise control on my ST1300, "rarely" use it, only to scratch, zip, or fumble with garmin.

Only electronic mod I would like is a flashing kick stand down light. They were right with the ignition cut off but never followed up with a light.

It will be interesting to see if Garmin pays the ransom for the ransomeware attack that they are under

The aviation market as well. I'm sure they won't offer discounts for not being able to use their products. This is a serious problem to a business.

What are the chances of the NC850X? I've seen the same article on a few website where they show the patent pictures. Sure looks like an NC bike to me...

Keyless entry would be nice, but probably not feasible due to the 2 separate locks for the bike and frunk.
Cruise Control would be awesome and probably my most wanted feature, but it's not throttle by wire so I doubt that is going to happen.
I'd like to be able to see outside air temp on the main display, not sure if we even have a temp sensor however.
Coolant temp would be nice too.
Why does the redline show 6400 when we can rev it to 7500?

I hear the reason for the 850 sized engine across the 750 line is because they have to choke it down to meet ever increasing emission requirements. With a larger engine they can chock it up a bit and still have the same power as the 750, so even with a larger engine I doubt the HP is going to increase too much. However i'm sure the torque would go up and I would personally love that.

Don't care what they might do in a year. Don't care what they might do in two or more – riding is a NOW thing to me. In the moment.

Kind of have to agree.

Certainly I’m curious about 2021. Will the NC platform continue? Will it be merged into the AT line as a street AT? Will the 750 be replaced?

But overall I don’t care that much. Not selling my 2018 to buy a 2021.

If they make an 850, using our NC format. With our long winters, I would consider using the pistons and cam as an upgrade. Easy light engine to work on.

If you want more horsepower, you’ll probably want to look elsewhere. The NC series is not and never was about power. The NC has what it needs. There are plenty of other machines with excess power.
I love my 750x ... I really love everything about it (post-seat slope fix)
-BUT-
Damned If I didn't wish for this bike to have more puff!

I'd happily exchange 10-15 less Hp for 100 lbs less weight! (DCT version please!)
You stole my comment. I was just thinking that instead of a more powerful NC, I’d rather have an NC with the same or less power but less weight. A simple, manual NC that weighed 380 pounds would be cool.

Heck if they could shave 50# I'd be happy

From looking at the patents, it's a complete engine redesign...
