Installed mirror extenders.
Easy 15 minute job.
Had to remove my Madstad screen (4 screws) to be able to rotate the mirrors out of their mounts.
Now I don't see my shoulders in the mirrors any more!
'got pictures of the ones you used? I'm a bit broad (just think of Jason Mamoa with corporate hair! :) ) and it's hard to get them out wide enough.

Tomorrow I'll take a pic of them on my bike.
These are the ones I bought:

82? Holy cow. I'm at 22 right now ( just got rid of 4, but have 2 more coming in June rumor has it) I couldn't live without my air compressor. Best under $ 100 purchase I can think of.

How do you check your motorcycle tire pressures weekly ( and car pressures monthly) with a bicycle pump? Lol
Well I check it with a gauge, I don't trust the bike pumps dial because it's a 10-160psi pump vs my ~5-60 gauge.

Usually my pressure seems to stay within about 1-2psi of recommend pressure after a few weeks. It only takes about four or so pumps.

I'll probably get a compressor when I finally get my tire changing equipment. I can't imagine seating the bead could be accomplished with a bicycle pump

Getting my new tires (tyres ) mounted today! Bike is currently "floating" on the center stand and a few floor jacks!

My 2007 Suzuki C50 Boulevard looked like this yesterday-but on a bike jack (it has a full frame)...it now has 102,000+ miles on it....Put Shinko SR777 on it....I wanted Pirelli MT66s; however, all the online places (Revzilla, Cycle Gear, etc....) for the tire sizes for the Boulevard was out of stock and the mom/pop shop I buy tires from,,,,the MT66s for the tire sizes I needed was backordered for 6-8 weeks.......The Kenda has 17,000 miles on it and the Shinko SR777 rear has 12,000 miles on it (but should have changed at 11,500)...My Nc700x got a new Shinko Raven on the rear last fall, and the front Shinko Raven has a couple of thousand miles to go before needing replaced (3.1 MM thread left).

Put Shinko SR777 on it.

Sweet! I just got Shinko 009 Raven mounted. There was another thread about budget tires, I will probably write up a review/first impressions post over there at some point after I get some miles on them.

I see the rear sprocket is off.
Great idea with the front axle in place supporting the front end.
Will you remove the brake rotors for tire install, or leave them on?
Yep, the sprocket just floats in the axle. The force of the transmission output gets transmitted through the "cush drive" which are a set of rubber dampers. Once the axle and wheel are removed, it just falls right off.

I didn't take off the rotors. They are safety & torque critical, and I believe Honda says you are supposed to replace the bolts that hold them on if removed, so I didn't want to deal with all that. The shop was professional and didn't bang them up.

I have always taken the rotors off my wheels when getting new tires, but that was on a shaft drive Goldwing, so really it was only the 2 front rotors.
I just have to trust my tire installer more.
I am paranoid about them dinging a rotor, not telling me, and then I'm SOL.

The new bolt business is only about thread locker.
Honda's critical bolts all use Loctite blue, or a form thereof.
As long as you re-coat the original bolts with fresh thread locker, you are good to go.

I learned this on the Goldwing forum from a tech who has a connection to the mother ship in Japan.

Thread locker is a half azzed way to reused old bolts for a couple of times then they should be replaced. The "mother ship" says replace them every time they are removed according to the Honda Common Shop Manual and the model specific service manual.

The OEM bolts are ALOC that stretch a bit when torqued to spec. They also have factory applied medium thread locker.

Slimey Crud Run! Only made it to Pine Bluff this year, but did a short ride with my friend before heading home. Scrubbing in new the new Shinko 009 Raven tires.

My first time seeing another NC700X at Slimey. Is this anyone from the Forum?

Riding for the past 12 months has been pretty minimal, largely due to an infant foster son that we brought into our house almost exactly 1 year ago. Our natural daughter is 26+ years old, we honestly forgot how hard it is to have a baby in the house, and at 60 years old, we don't have quite the same amount of energy that young parents have with children.

But today, after a trip with the now 13 month old boy, to the emergency room, I decided to go out for a ride. The lovely Mrs_Bob figured he'd spend a good bit of the day sleeping and gave me her blessing to "go and come back later!" So I did.

Most rides have been short. 20, 40, sometimes hitting 60 miles. Today was almost 100 on the dot. Had nowhere to go but I had a nearly empty tank so I rode into town, fueled up and headed east. Heavy winds from the south were predicted but other than some modest gusts, the ride east was easy. Next county over I got detoured off the county highway onto another and I just rode that until I saw an interesting sign. Took a turn and found myself going some other direction that was unplanned. Passed the Baum's Bridge Inn, a little hole in the wall restaurant/bar on the Kankakee river. I think I was there a few decades ago. Rode on past it and just kept going until I lost the asphalt and the road became a fairly well packed chip & seal, that road ended and I was faced with a choice of left or right, opted right and took that roadway until I caught another detour. Just kept going like that, following roads for no particular reason.

Eventually I found a small town that my wife & I had ridden through on our way back home from our Great Lakes Circle Tour route, the town is off the official route, but between the route and where we live. We had stopped there during a heavy rain storm and waited out part of the storm inside a self-serve car wash bay!

About a half hour later I was at farm restaurant that is one of our favorite destinations. I know that place to be 40 miles from home. Stopped in and had a Reuben, some chips and a Mr Pibb. By this time the wind from the south was really picking up so it was a good place to stop for a rest.

Upon departure I knew I had roughly a 12 mile run, due west, on a narrow country road. With the now heavy & constant wind from the south I was leaning pretty hard to the left. The occasional oncoming semi-truck made for a near religious experience when it pushed then blocked the southern wind blast. Got to the end and made a turn north for the final run home, with the wind on my back. Easy run, 4 lane divided highway, 60mph limit but might have been accidentally riding a good bit faster.

Got home and the baby is asleep. It is Bourbon O'Clock in this part of Indiana now.

There's nothing quite like getting back in the saddle. Glad you are getting some quality personal time @melensdad
Last year was supposed to be a ride down Route 66 from Chicago to at least Albuquerque, then the Grand Canyon. The baby postponed that to this year. The court now said that we will have him at least through August, so maybe next year? Seems like my rides have gone from epic to 15 mile errand runs!!! But today was pretty good.

I rode Route 66 from the start in Chicago to Needles, CA summer before last. It was 127F when we got there. Having lived in AZ, (now in Wisconsin) I prepped for it by using a dry sauna for a couple weeks before setting out on the ride. It really did seem to help as I had no trouble with the heat.
