2021 NC750x purchased yet?

We are still hoping that the August 3 ship date, and probable delivery date of August 5 still works out.
My wife is back in the hospital. Her chemotherapy was completed July 3. HOWEVER, now with little to no white blood cells for the last week, she has developed a mystery infection. She is immune compromised at least for another week, however her breakout infection and fever would be life threatening without her IV antibiotics. She should be discharged from the hospital (again) around July 23, give or take a few days. THEN she can finally regain strength. THEN she can finally resume her archery. THEN she will go back to riding her Burgman 400 for another week or so before trading up to her 2021 NC750X DCT, we hope.
I have most of August on vacation from my retirement job at Home Depot. We hope to be riding the Pacific Northwest Coast then.
(Sure, I am "retired", but maybe half the workers at my Home Depot store are "retired". We like a little extra spending money and we like the social interaction. Work has been a great emotional therapy for me dealing with my wife's cancer.)
Looking for another Columbia River crossing this year from Washington to Oregon as in this picture. Check out her license plate on her bike.

We're leaving Tuesday for Kelso, then down the 101 to Gold Beach then to Crater Lake and home via 97 and 20 then 95 North. Planning 10 days+/- unless the fires or the China bug cuts it short. Looks like either could happen in OR.

That will be a great trip.
Have a great ride.
Thanks but I guess I should have mentioned we're taking an Xterra and a couple dogs...hard to manage on 2 wheels. I do have plans if Canada border opens and if not maybe MT and WY while the copilot goes to a funeral and visits kids and their offspring.

Big group hug to everyone who has sent positive messages about my wife.
Thank you all.
She hasn't been a recently licensed motorcycle rider lately for more than 7 years. (She used to ride a motorcycle before we got married in 1975.) But her horse riding skills have schooled me in my motorcycle riding. Look forward, not down. (Great lesson in learning to surf.) Stand up when the going gets rough. Squeeze with the knees when required for control but know when to loosen up and trust your ride.
She is one tough girl. She once rode her 10-speed racing/touring drop handlebar bicycle from Minnesota to Alaska in the 1970's. (OK, drafting behind me on my own bicycle. I have the testosterone and she has the beauty.) Still,
She is one tough lady.
She still wants her NC750X to ride to our beach place. It was going to be with TKC80 tires for our muddy road, but with the recent dry weather she may do our now dried mud road with OEM tires.

She is quite strong and determined and deserves nothing but the best!! And, you deserve credit for your support and backing as well. This battle is hopefully coming to an end and you both are coming thru this as winners!! The wife of one of my friends had the same fight 8 years ago or so and she just sold her Road King and bought a Harley trike for next Summers travels. She is in her late 60's and tough as nails and too stubborn to give up riding but she just isn't ready to give up the road yet.

As always, Best to your wife in her fight and you as her partner!!!

I have been lurking in this thread since I put down a deposit on a 2021 NC750X manual a few weeks ago hoping to hear of deliveries.
I knew there would a a wait, and my dealer would not even estimate a delivery date. I am getting back to riding after about 20 years and so have nothing to ride until it comes in.

My personal theory is that they are all stuck in the historical shipping delays we are experiencing, and I have been checking the inventory of LA (close to Port of Long Beach) Honda dealers (I live in Metro Boston) in the hope that if they get some, more will soon follow. I have no idea if this will do any good, but it keeps my hopes alive. So far their inventory has gone from 1 to none DCTs.

I still need to figure out if I need to buy summer or fall gear.

Good luck! I put my deposit down in late March and still awaiting delivery like Mudtrack - Honda, get it together for his wife if you are reading this!!!!!
I went with a well respected small dealership and that may have been my downfall as I think the larger dealerships have priority on the limited inventory (not only of the NC750 since Honda seems to have really messed up logistics compared to other manufacturers). So hoping it pays off in the long run since the dealership has been really honest throughout the wait and think I will have a happy long-term relationship with them servicing the bike once it arrives (a (hopefully) honest mechanic is priceless).
Theoretically, my bike will ship on Thurs but until it is in the dealership's hands, not holding my breath.

How can anybody not miss the crap storm that is global logistics right now and blame Honda for shipping delays?

I know that I'm in the business of logistics and deal with it everyday but a day doesn't seem to go by without a reminder of the supply chain disruptions on virtually all consumer goods we want and use. I used to be a parts manager in a multi brand dealership and know from experience how well run Honda's supply chain is compared to other brands.

I saw a YouTube video about how Honda, automobiles at least, recognized the fragility of Just-in-Time in the aftermath of the tsunami and incorporated some flexibility in their supply timeline that actually made them less broken during the pandemic than most manufacturers. But when the whole of the rest of the manufacturing and shipping world is ass over tits, there is only so much one can do.

Also, from what I have been reading, the NC750X seems to be the red headed step child of the American motorcycle market with a much larger market overseas and limited demand in the US. We seems to be a niche market.

Same deal in Canada. Dealers can order 1 or 2 manual or DCT’s if they wish, but out of the 5 dealers in my province, only 1 dealer ordered 1 NC ( a manual) to have in stock. I would say 99% of bike owners don’t know what an NC 750X is, and 95% don’t know that Honda makes bikes with DCT’s.

Got a kick out of this…

Someone posted a video on YouTube showing how to install the OEM USB port on a ‘21 NC. According to Honda, you need to disassemble literally the entire left side of the bike in order to gain access to the plug the USB plugs into.

Beyond curious as to why Honda doesn’t just add the USB port in the factory like they do with bikes like the Rebel 1100 and CB650R. I mean, they took the time to precut a hole in the frunk and fill it with a rubber plug…why not replace the rubber plug with the actual USB port?

Apparently saving a few bucks here and there were necessary to get the 21 NC down below a certain price point. Not having a std center stand falls into that category too. But at least you can buy them factory OEM and install them, unlike a cruise control which is similar. Not much cost to add that given they already have throttle by wire. Those bean counters at Honda are a mysterious group.

The guy that did that video did a awesome job and is greatly appreciated as he removed the uncertainty out of dismantling all the tupperware. I’ll be doing that myself soon to install the factory heated grips amongst other things.
