I combined the Seat Concepts seat kit with the Showkey front seat mod.
I used 3/4" pipe insulation to fill the void remaining after I raised the forward end of the driver's seat up about 1".
The pictures appear to show a colour mismatch of the seat and pipe insulation due to the flash and camera optics, but to the eye the match is decent.
I am pleasantly surprised by the combination of the two mods.
Now when I'm riding I forget the seat was a pain in the butt as well as the junk.DSC00318.JPGDSC00321.JPGDSC00323.JPGDSC00325.JPG

Turned over 3,000K since picked up June 22nd. Went 228 miles on this tank, (.4 into reserve) and took 3.0 gals to fill up on today's ride.=76 mpg

I'm thinking you meant 3K miles, not 3,000K.

Give the poor guy a break.
Remember, he's 71.
You can pick on me; I'm only 70 :)
Yeah, gimme a break. I'm old and sometimes type things wrong. I know what I mean though.

Yes, three thousand miles . Only had the bike 2 months, and it shares miles with a CB 1100. ( how many miles would 3000k miles be anyway? )

Took a beach run to Stuart & Ft. Pierce Beach. About 75 miles round trip. Had a good trip & enjoyed the bike with the new seat & highway pegs.

I did something similar with a Sargent seat on my 2015. It's funny how the pipe foam reflects light in photos but in natural light it disappears to the eye and fills the gap nicely.

So much more scenic than my very short ride across the IN/IL state line where I bisected cornfields and bean fields. One of my fencing students ordered a new competition level saber glove, it arrived at my home yesterday. She leaves for college tomorrow. So I rode out to her home to deliver her new fencing glove. Chatted with her mom for quite a while, the girl started in junior high school but ended up at a high school that didn't have a fencing team. I was able to get her onto a school team in a different school district and she was one of my star fencers on that team.

Bittersweet ride, I won't see her for a few months, but she plans to return to my fencing club for a competition in October.

I used to live in Ft Pierce. 505 Emil Drive. There was an A & W Root Beer stand on the corner. That was in 1959. Bet it looks a lot different now

I explored some new roads near my house. We moved to east TN last year and I have been exploring the roads near my house. It is a lot more fun on the NC than the FJR.
What makes the NC more fun than the FJR? I'm curious because the FJR is currently tied for first on my list of dream bikes :)

In the tight twisties, the FJR can be a handful. My 2015 FJR weighed 644 lbs vs 472 lbs for my '21 NC750XA. The FJR carries a lot of that weight up high. Cornering seems effortless on the NC.

Things I miss about the FJR:
- cruise control
- abundant power that makes gear selection moot

The FJR is not a bad bike, the NC better fits my riding needs now that I live in East TN.

yea the NC feels like a super moto compared to the FJR. It is easier to bend into a corner or curve than the FJR

On the roads that I ride, that are country curvy but not real technical the FJR handled fine, especially once I got rid of the stock tires and put some Michelin's on there. It's enemy is it's weight and how high that weight is, and is precisely the reason I traded mine in on the NC. That and my wife quit riding, so I am now just doing solo rides. If she had kept wanting to ride, I'd have kept the FJR because it was bigger, roomier, and didn't even feel the extra weight of a passenger.

I too miss the cruise and the abundant power

I too have had an FJR. Very powerful bike, a bit heavy. A great long range tourer. I found the FJR to be “sneaky fast” -I’d think I was cruising along at 65 and check the speedometer and find I was at 95. I literally could not tell the difference based on noise, turbulence, etc. I had a Ducati at the same time. The SS was as fast, BUT you “knew” when you were flying low on it, The FJR was just too easy. I enjoyed it but knew it was going to get me in trouble. I find the NC to be a great bike. Fast enough to be fun and do what I need without getting into the hyper speed thing. There’s and old saying “it’s more fun to ride a slow bike fast than a fast bike slow”. It’s true..

Today I got the lighting all finished up. Low beam/High beam setup using the stock light switch set up and a 5 pole relay.
Low beam fog lights high beam switch's off fog and changes to white and all lights go full.

Finally finished my Denali drl aux light installation and putting it all back together! Test ride tomorrow or Friday hopefully

Rabbit,
Great. Don't be shy.
Lets see some pictures of your setup. Many of the members on this forum never seem to post pictures of what they have done to their bikes.
Don't be one of those guys. look forward to seeing what you did to your bike. It gives us all an idea how and what to do to our bikes.

Scott

Not sure what Rabbit did, but I have the Denali DRL lights on 2 bikes. Fork mounted. Love them. Attention getting but not blinding. Wide beam spread is visible from the SIDE and the FRONT of the bike and all angles in between. Don't really light the roadway, they are designed so you are seen.

I had the same experience with that and also with a gel pad. I described as sitting on a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, The bottom piece of bread never stays lined up with the top piece of bread.
Well the AirHawk was a failure. Could not get used to the slippery feel, tried the air pressure at various levels, tried securing it a couple different ways; sent it back to Amazon.
The new gel pad came today, will give that a try.

Which gel pad did you get? I was ready to order an airhawk to tide me over until Sargent/Corbin is verified to fit a 2021.
