I have been a long time reader and decide to join today, admittedly to use the classifieds

In 2016 I decided to purchase a used 2014 NC750X based mostly on the tall seat height and the extremely handy frunk. I don't necessarily agree this bike should be marketed as adventure but it is an excellent short commute bike!

I finally found a 2021 NC750X manual so I traded. I really like this new bike but miss the old one too. I actually preferred the taller bike, and although the frunk was smaller I think the shape made it more useful. Headlights are much improved though. The one thing I can't get used too it taking off from a stop. I don't know what it is but I almost kill this one a lot. Like it's geared higher or the flywheel/rotating mass is lighter. More throttle cures everything though!

Welcome to the forum.

It is interesting that you mentioned the problem of almost killing (stalling) the bike leaving from a stop. There have been a couple or several reports of ‘21 DCT models intermittently stalling the engine when leaving from a stop. That your manual transmission model is acting oddly in this same scenario suggests Honda may have a fueling problem with the ‘21 model. If this problem is widespread with both transmission types, perhaps there is hope that Honda will offer a software revision to address the issue.

Welcome and I look forward to your insights.

Sorry to here about the troubles you are having with your NC, welcome to the ride and a hearty welcome from northern IDAHO!! :{)

To me, it seems the idle could be bumped 100 rpm and it would make a huge difference. I came off a FJR that you could take off just by slowly releasing the clutch, no throttle. The FJR does sense the clutch being released and automatically bumps the engine rpm to prevent stalling.

Thanks guys! My stalling, well almost, could be the clutch feel also. This 750 has a much lighter clutch pull. I read something about the bike having a slipper clutch but I am not familiar with that term. And that may not apply to US models anyway.

I have stalled my ‘21 dct on two occasions with very gentle throttle application from a stop. There does seem to be something to this. Would be interested to hear from owners of previous years to see if this is something new with the current model.

My 700 can do the same thing. So can my VL800 for that matter. No fancy electronics either

I have a 2013 and have it for 3 years now and it have never stopped for my! It works like a clock.
I wondering what is your idling speed? (sorry if I have poor English I only speak Swedish)

I have a '20 DCT and I can whack my throttle open from a stop with no hint of hesitation or stalling.
Mine stalled with a very gentle application of throttle on flat ground. Like the fueling wasn’t enough to overcome torque resistance. It never stalls with normal or aggressive throttle. The idle speed appears to be in the normal range.
