Last really nice day here (temp hit 70F but very windy) , so went for a half hour ride with Seafoam added to the gas, changed the oil and both filters, put the battery maintainer on it, and said goodbye until late March or early April 2022.
Our forecast up to Halloween is between 35F and 45F, so I'm done.

Sad day for me today.
I loved riding my DCT this season.

BB i was still riding last year into December, though i do have the winter riding gear for it and do not mind riding in sub-32F temps. As long as it is not snowing, icy or snow covered ground... if the sun is out i'm out!! :{P
I used to ride my Goldwing in below freezing temps, but I get no pleasure any more from riding in the cold in the Fall with the sun so low in the sky.
The Spring is a different story.
Even below freezing temps are OK for me then, as the radiative heating from the sun feels great.

installed some handguards to help keep the hands warm

Do you have a link to the hand guards?
Unfortunately I don't, but I will try and find some info on them. I bought then used years ago from a fellow on the CB 1100 forum and ran them on my CB for a couple of years. As the NC has become my daily ride I just repurposed them on the NC after painting the hardware satin black (It was originally (chrome)

ahh found the model

Here's this one too much cheaper

Today I decided to look at the wobbly side stand on my 2012 NC. I disassembled it and found that wear appeared minimal. The frame hole was not worn out and the bolt shoulder was not worn. The sides of the sidestand U were still parallel, but the U was simply wider than the frame tab thickness.

I filed and sanded the inner surfaces of the stand U and was able to fit a 1/32 inch (0.8 mm) washer to fill the gap. Now I have a smoothly operating side stand with no wiggle and wobble.

haha, odometer fodder. I think i am just a few miles ahead of you my friend. I'll have to check it out tomorrow and see as i believe i am right at/about 8k now. Finally ready for it's very first service. I picked up a new DCT filter, engine filter and some new T6 oil. This coming weekend i believe we have a couple of decent days forecasted, so i may service the bike or may blow it off and ride haha! :{)

Couple of pics from a weekend away on the X-Adv. The Dunlops got tested in the wet and all good so far. I have a bit more wet testing to do with them before I can make a direct comparison with the Michelins that went before them.

I thought it looked like an Irish landscape. Looks like many of the Irish photo rally roads. Have fun

38F earlier today and only made it about 48 miles before i was frozen(however i made it long enough to grab the new "TAG" again haha). Time to break out the winter/thermal gear i guess! :{P
