Question Soon-to-be Honda NC750X owner. I have a few questions.

Just another update on the arrival of my hopefully 2022 NC750X DCT ABS. I contacted my dealer this morning asking for an update and the reply was: Scheduled for September. ! I wasn't very nice in my return email asking if September rolled around would it be January. Now I'm really frustrated. As I asked before, who has taken delivery of this bike this year and who still has it on order. When September rolls around it will be 12 or more weeks of waiting. I've found a 2021 not far from me. maybe I can cancel and buy that one.
I waited 4 months for my 2021 last year.

They will probably give your deposit back. It's getting into next year's model territory now. Hopefully they don't want a mint for the '21 one...........if they even still have it.

I have an email in to the dealership regarding the availability of the 2021. I’ve asked the dealer of the 2022 of I can cancel. They said I can for a $50 penalty.

that's B.S.
if they are unable to fulfill their side of the contract (delivery within a specified time), you should get a full refund regardless of terms.
grab the 2021 if it's priced reasonably.

Does anyone know the difference between a 2021 and a 2022? I found a 2021 new DCT but it doesn’t list ABS
In the USA, all NC7_0X DCT model years included ABS, from 2012 through 2022.

Then why is it still for sale? Potential buyers haven't been impressed with your best deal. I'm not trying to be sarcastic just realistic. If you afford to wait and don't want a penny less then sit on it. If you want to sell it and the listing is stale it's priced too high.
Gotcha. Someone said they were driving from San Diego (about 800 miles) on Friday to buy it and they said the price was fair and they had cash. I think being so far north it makes it out of range for most. Someone else 300 miles away wanted it 3 weeks ago until I told them how long it took to get here, plus nobody is buying anything right now. If it's priced high, then the other 8 in Cycle Trader are way too high.

Nothing that you’ve added changes anything. If the only potential buyers in your area are out of work lumberjacks then you’re dependent on people coming from far away to look at it or to buy it sight unseen. That’s kind of a niche buyer and you have to figure in the transportation costs. You had two potential buyers on the hook but they figured the price was too high based on what it would take to get the bike in their own garage. Because Cycle Trader is a both regional and a national publication, it might not be that accurate to compare your price against prices posted elsewhere. If those bikes have been listed a while and they’re not selling and then all of you are unrealistic. Demand is still strong here in Florida according to contacts I have still in the business of buying and selling motorcycles.
Well, hopefully he will drive up here on Friday. The problem is getting anyone to look at it and it's like a new bike. I bet you sold things in the past that were in mint condition, nobody was looking, and the first person snatched it up that looked at it. The main concern I have now is that time keeps moving on and eventually summer will be over.............along with the sale.

One problem with for-sale items being listed as “mint condition” is that way too many advertisers have abused those words over the years. I have looked at many used bikes advertised as in mint condition, only to find upon inspection that the machine had multiple flaws. I’m not saying your bike isn‘t actually in mint condition, but I’m saying that your prospective buyers may not put much faith in that wording. I no longer do.

I agree. My job is selling things on ebay (25 years), and thankfully if you throw that word around too much you will pay the price with returns and neg feedback. That's why I have almost 4000 pos fb's and no negs. Ebay totally protects the buyer nowadays.

I can see being a bit out of the way it might take some time to sell that bike. I was lucky when I sold mine. My 89 PC800 isn't the most sought after bike. But man did I love the trunk. A guy a few blocks away was looking to upgrade from his scooter. He took one look and fell in love. Moved it in a 10 days. You'll find the perfect buyer.

The buyer drove 800 miles today and paid what I paid for it a year ago. Now it's back to waiting the new NC750 to arrive at the dealer.

I agree, but the terms state delivery is an estimate. It’s not that they won’t deliver but when.
Here is today's message from my dealer;

Brent,

Here I am being the bearer of bad news; Honda has pushed pack 90% of our order 28 days. The NC is showing a new release date of 8/28.
I know this probably isn't what you wanted to hear, but I want to keep you in the loop as much as possible.

Your dealership is providing more details than mine. They’re saying September. So that sounds about right with the 8/28 release date.
