Just saw this up on powersports.honda new Interceptor and Cbr650F coming to the USA. I'm really liking the Cbr may be a good new bike?

I am a bit disappointed with the new Interceptor to be honest. It looks/feels too BMW F800GT for my taste.

The CBR650F I like, but it seems too close to what we already have, the CBF600. Why Honda would have two nearly identical bikes, is a puzzle.

I do know I should have gotten the CBF600 instead of my hateful F800ST, though. Sigh.

Honestly it looks like Honda is just flooding the market with new bikes no matter how close they are to others. Must be a good strategy with 16.8 million bikes sold last year. I don't mind I like the extra options, it was getting old that being on a cbr only meant 2 options.

I was remiss in mentioning that I think any bike not an RRRRRR or yet another of a billion Harley cruiser clones, is to be thankful for! :D

Actually I thought there was only one option. I wasnt going to ride at 600. Now look at me. LOL. For years I said I'd never ride anything smaller than a 750.

You know a lot of people say that once you ride a liter bike you never go back BUT I think after you ride a liter bike as long as some of us do (more than 1,000 mile a year like some people) you get bored with everything. I found nothing fun anymore, ya the bike was fast but when you ride a rocket everyday everything else seems like a slug... I missed actually opening the throttle past 1/8 turn, so I appreciate the NC for what it is and would love to have a 600 I can thrash all day, have fun and not be in warp drive every time I open the throttle.

The world needs more bikes with actual names like "Interceptor", rather than a jumble of letters and numbers. Good for Honda. As it is, I'm pretty sure Fireblade is the most epic handle ever given to anything with wheels.

1.jpgI agree with you 100%, bikes should have names not numbers. Goldwing, super hawk, cub, and many more great bikes.

I agree. You have a good point. Most of the time I ran out of road before I ran out of throttle. I did a lot of my riding in the city which really limits you. The interstates are so congested now it almost dangerous to get to carried away. I appreciate the NC too. I'm apt to do a lot more things I would have never consider on my previous bikes.

Since they stuck with CBR its not really throwing anything new into the mix as far as names go. Now it they had came up with a whole new name based off numbers that could be considered getting carried away. I'm kind of excited to see this new CBR.

these new releases are all interesting, but how about bringing back a modern version of the NT650 Hawk GT?? That was a beautiful motor-sickle!

Man you just hit the nail on the head. An 88' Hawk gt was my first bike, I would love to have one again!

I spent quite a few miles on an '89 Hawk and loved the thing :D

The only downside to the bike for me was the er... family jewels crushing shape of the fuel tank, after doing a wheelie, lol

With that being my first bike I thought it was my poor wheelie skill causing the nut crushing but now that I think of it I haven't had an issue since that bike lol.

I'm with everyone on this, so happy to see a bike that's not a HD or Gixxer clone (even though I have owned both types recently). The CBR has also piqued my curiosity, the HP numbers are just about in the sweet spot to keep me out of trouble with cagers and the leos. The Interceptor is a bit too pricey for what it is. Another couple grand and you can get shaft drive, bags and other goodies so it just doesn't seem worth it to me. Once upon a time, I had a CB700SC Nighthawk S, I'd like to see a modern reboot of that bike, shaft drive and all. Or 400cc supersport, R4, NC30 etc. I want a bike I can ride that doesn't ride me.
