Went out for a bit Sunday. Left at about 8, returned about 10. Too damn hot already. I had drained my 3L Kreiga once, refilled, and got halfway through it again. And I still ended up with a headache and slight dehydration. And that was with a couple salt tablets on top. for 2 hours.

I second the Merino wool! best stuff on the planet for riding. I always were it when on trips. And it washes quick and easy, Socks, undies and t-shirts (my travel kit is 3 of each and its been good for 7 days). Unbound Merino usually has a 3-pack special going on.

I always wear gloves, but they dont come over the jacket. I have the Klim Badlands Aero Pro Short gloves for all but winter.

I have also been look for a Klim Induction as well - every now and then one pops up on ADV forums in their garage sale area. I have Klim Latitude Misano jacket and pants, and love them. They just fit and feel good. I have tried on a couple other mesh jackets, and they just didnt do it for me...

Just replaced my brake lever today. The original was broken when I went and lost grip when the front wheel was off while I replaced the brake pads the other week. Much sleeker-looking, and not as long. I wanted to get one that would fold, but they were really price prohibitive right now...

It's a harsh area, lots of drug (meth and scripts) and gun violence. The show "Justified" was based on the situation in that area of KY. 3 of my best friends come from there, and they only go back for funerals. But it really is some of the most beautiful riding in the state. I recommend...

Went out this weekend, got some good mileage in riding around central and eastern KY. Went by the state capitol building and all around the area. It was nice temps, nearly perfect. The only issue was the wind - there was more than one time I was nearly blown off the road by sudden gusts...
