My 2012 NC700X recently developed a slow leak around the bead on the front tire. From looking through threads here, it seems to be a pretty common issue. I located the leak, broke the bead, and sure enough observed corrosion on the rim in the bead seat area. Sandpaper and bead sealer seem to...
Yeah ... I think you are right. It wouldn't be the first time I've overthought something like this! I'm just going to keep riding and try not to worry about it.
Thanks all.
Yeah, it rolls in that scenario. Tougher when the engine is cold, as would be expected, and pretty easy once the engine is warm. Can feel it pushing against the "stickiness" of the oil and then it moves a little easier. Doesn't feel out of the ordinary after all.
I don't know, maybe I'm...
I'm trying to figure out what's going on with the clutch on my 2012 NC700X (manual). The bike has close to 45,000 miles on it and I'm wondering if the clutch is starting to go, although the symptoms don't really make sense to me.
It seems like the clutch does not always disengage fully when the...
This does make me think of two things. One, having ridden some more since I wrote my first post, the area in which I do indeed notice the most difference is that brake dive is greatly reduced. I find that sharp bumps are just as jarring as ever, though. Two, your experience (and I studied your...
Interesting. I know Cogent Dynamics says that no drilling or other modification of the damper rods is necessary but I wonder if some drilling would help?

I've been wanting to make some suspension upgrades to my NC for a while. With nearly 33k on the odometer I knew the forks were more than likely overdue for service anyway (I've owned the bike since 15k and not changed the fork oil during my ownership) and I figured this would be the ideal time...
I haven't opened the reservoir to see if the diaphragm shows any obvious sign of damage. The reservoir was indeed full, and the fluid needed some place to go. I know I pushed fluid out past the seal - my question is does doing so ruin the seal?
Hi all, looking for some advice/answers. Yesterday while fumbling with replacing the rear wheel after a tire change, I somehow managed to dislodge one of the rear brake pads. For whatever reason I was having a hell of a time getting it replaced in its proper spot and in the process I decided it...
Hello, fellow Northeast Ohioan!
I think you'll find the NC700X well-suited for those longer camping trips. Speaking from experience - last summer I did a 13 state, 6600 mile trip on my 2012 NC and camped 21 of the 25 nights I was on the road. I found it to be just the right size - large...
Yeah, I didn't think it through with respect to how feasible it would be for the next person to get this tag. Mea culpa. I was trying to think of something I hadn't seen done before and I happened to be near a ski slope.
Let's broaden the tag to an outdoor sports & recreation area of any sort.
Woo hoo! A warm, dry day means I get a chance to play. :D
Old tag: An old train station. Peninsula (Ohio) Depot, built c.1880, currently used by the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad.
New tag: A ski slope. (Doesn't have to be operating at the moment!)
