Sorry. I haven't been very active here recently. I don't think I took any pics of the mod. The seat is still on the bike and I'm happy with how it feels. I'm selling the bike right now, if anyone is interested. 2012 NC700X for sale w/add-ons 10,000 miles, $3,000
The Gripper material is REALLY sticky. I kind of think it's too sticky. I find that my when I slide around it's not my pants sliding on the seat, it's actually actually my underwear moving in my pants. If I were to buy it again, I think I'd get a different material.
Keep an eye on tire pressures. Several people, myself included, have found dirt or corrosion between the wheel rim and tire bead areas. You can basically just break the tire off the bead, clean it, then reseat the tire. My dealership did it for free.
For rear wheel alignment, don't rely solely on the marks on the swingarm. Using a straightedge (or fancy new laser tool), align the rear wheel sprocket straight in the chain.
FYI, this varies by state. From what I can tell, most states are actually the other way. You cannot use the uninsured.underinsured coverage in a hit and run. It sucks that the law sides with the hit-and-runner rather than the victim. I only discovered this after being hit in Indiana a few...
No need to slide hammer. The weight bodies remove fairly easily once you disengage the locking tabs. The "body" is what I'm calling the portion inside the bar that the external weight attaches to. The internal body has a fair amount of weight to itself. Once you get one out, you should be...
The baffle is about halfway down the muffler center tube. Maybe 10" deep, if I remember accurately. I used a 12" long #21 drill bit to start a pilot hole. Not particular reason for the size, that's just the longest bit I had on hand. I enlarged the hole using a Harbor Freight step drill on a...
I notice the same thing when my engine is cold. I think it's just a result of the OEM fuel mapping being fairly lean (like most modern bikes) to meet emissions standards. The off-idle transition is one of the hardest operations to make smooth, even in old carbureted bikes. Now that I have a...
Also, it might be the vent line on the upper RH side of the valve cover. There is a maybe 1/2" dia black rubber line that vents the crankcase. If that line is not tight, it could also leak engine oil down the RH side of the engine.
(All RH/LH sides as sitting on the bike)
The head gasket and the valve cover gasket are two different things. The head gasket is a much larger problem. From what you describe, it sounds like it's just the valve cover gasket. It's not a big problem. It can leak from being pinched or cut during reinstallation, from hardening over...
Cee Bailey tall with MRA X-creen add-on and DIY holes.
I moved, giving up my 4 mile commute for a 30 mile highway commute, so high speed buffeting had to be dealt with. I need the tall screen to get the air over my helmet, and the holes help to reduce buffeting over the top of the screen...
New mod to the Danmoto.
The instructions specifically state to only put the baffle in the inlet side of the muffler. Just to see what would happen, I put it in the outlet side a few days ago and I like it better this way. Now the volume of the muffler body is in front of the baffle, so it...
