    Idaho-to-DEADHORSE ALASKA and back 2022??!!

If you don't have the chain oiler yet check out the Cameleon plus oiler. I love mine. It automatically adjusts for more oil if it senses off road terrain.

    Chain alignment

many times the internals are not tight so they are not aligned and this causes misalignment. Canyonchasers.net has many good instructional videos and shows you how to tighten them up. I use a fat shafted phillips screw driver between the chain and the sprocket. Then I use the chain markers to...

    Using 87 instead 91 gas

It's helped clean up rough running engines for me more than once. It can also clean up the oil side of the engine too. Have a sticking ticking hydraulic lifter sea foam can take care of it. Since I started using it my carbed engines don't have a problem after winter storage. So I will keep...

Is engine braking bad? I mean really braking by the engine...

Hi Afan, If you are riding aggressively and attacking the corners on roads like the Dragon, Cherohala Skyway, or many of the roads in the Appalachian mountains or in SW Wisconsin you should be using both brskes and engine braking. It won't hurt your engine one little bit. That's why they use a...

Any one know of nice rides in NY or Vermont?

I'm on a trip with #3 daughter and we ran from the Isais storm. We were in Northern Georgia and North Carolina. Taking shelter at a friend's house near Lancaster, PA. When the storm passes we plan on heading for the Catskill mountains and Adirondack Mountains. Any ideas? Sent from my SM-N960U...

Having a Technical Day in Northern Illinois

the only downer of this garage time was when Afan had packed and was within seconds of leavng when he wanted to open the Frunk. It wouldn't open! I know we put it together correctly and snapped the cable in the holder so it wouldn't pop out. You could feel resistance when the key was turned but...

    Seen in the wild

Three NC's seen I was at the Pine Bluff, Wyoming Rest Stop on I-80. Just returning from Utah where I dropped off my daughter at BYU and her NC700X. Went in to go to the restroom and when I walked out I saw parked next to my truck 2 NC700X's and 1 NC750X and an Indian Scout. Talked to the folks...

Mileage so good it was scary

when my daughter and I rode over the Million dollar Highway (from Durango to Ouray, CO) she got 87 mpg, all over the west she was in the 80's 3 times and high 70's. Dropping your speed as you have described is a major factor. low wind and lower humidity also helps.

New rider ready to ride Cross Country!

I would stay in CA and ride there for a while. if SF means San Francisco (I used to live in Marin County) you have some of the BEST MC roads in the country. When it stops burning I would start to explore there. Get a copy of Destinationhighways.com Northern California book and map. Well worth...

    NC700x Crash bars

That was me. Don't have to take take the bar off. Just remove the top U-bolt so you have room to remove the plug to see engine crank position. Make sure you put anti-seize on the U-bolt threads as they are stainless steel and will gall and you will not be able to unthread (remove) them and they...
