A few people have been scammed on the site, Only use paypal to pay for items for sale by other members. If they will not use paypal, its likely a scam NEVER SEND E-TRANSFERS OF ANY KIND.
No need to feel lost. I provided context to make the problem easier to understand. So I guess in your case it was a bit of info overload. A summary: battery failed after only 20 months of active duty. Looking for reasons I thought it was cooked due to overcharging. Probably not given what 'The...
Hi,
I read a lot of the threads here, but seldom write. I'd been a happy owner of two NC750x for the past 5 years and never had a problem. I'm very happy with the bike. Currently I have a small concern.
I had to change the battery last week as it started to have problems cranking the starter...
The war in Ukraine has exposed the high dependence the world has on oil and natural gas. Unless something almost "magical" is discovered tomorrow, there is no way the world can shift to electric power in 8 years. Think about the kind of infrastructure required to deliver electric energy to our...
Interestingly no one mentioned hydraulic tappets as an alternative to valve calibration. Most American car engines from the 60's had them and they never required adjustment. Motorcycles were not as quick to jump in that wagon, apparently due issues at high RPMs, at least that was the standard...
Fortnine is entertaining and many time very informative. But as any channel that requires ever increasing viewership it taps into melodramatics a bit too much. The good comes with the bad. Not an indictment against it, just keeping things in perspective as the guy has developed an almost cult...
Can anybody tell me the socket size to remove the spark plugs on the NC750x? Probably it needs the thin and long ones coupled with a 6" adapter (3/8"). I have used a 5/8"(16mm) in bikes with small spark plugs, but prefer to ask beforehand.
Thanks,
pmjones79. I'm glad you fixed the problem and leaned quite a bit in the process. Keep those used parts they may come handy in the future.
Just out of curiosity I checked the entire tread. It underscores the difficulty and limitations of written communication. And I have to be careful here...
As usual with these 'cheapy' items there is more than one distributor. I was able to find a picture of how it looks mounted. It covers only the oil sump area right in front of the center stand. Hardly off-road worthy but perhaps better than nothing. And I say 'perhaps' as it depends where it's...
Thanks for the replies.
For now, I'm going to keep looking.
The 'cheapy' looks suspicious even thought it probably only covers the front portion of the engine. The SW-Motech ($330) is not even compatible with a center stand, a dealbreaker. And the HondaBikePro (~$500) is beyond me both in...
Good Morning and Happy 2020!
Just got yesterday my new 2018 NC750X. The bike is part of a project to go around the US this summer with an old "Compadre" and his VStrom. We are just a couple of happy 60 year old kids that got permission from the wives to go and play.
As it happen with a new...
Hi,
New to the forum and looking forward to learn and participate. I just purchased a new NC750x from 2018 and waiting to be delivered in a few days. The bike is part of my 2020 summer project of touring the USA with a old pal and his VStrom 650.
I’m new to NC’s but not to bikes, riding/owning...
