    Trans-Labrador Highway

Ride review of Nova Scotia An invitation to my co-worker’s son’s wedding in Digby, Nova Scotia was all I needed to put into motion a motorcycle trip to explore Nova Scotia and New Foundland. The furthest I had ridden in this direction previously was to Bar Harbor, Maine on a trip 4 years ago...

    rear tire alignment

Accuracy of chain adjustment marks. Just adjusted the chain on my 2014 and checked it with a motion pro rod and noticed after aligning the rear sprocket, chain and front sprocket the marks on each side of the swing are not in the same spot. Off by about 1/16 of and inch. Does this sound...

Its all about the links - its lowered!

Thank You., exactly what I am looking for.Raised the forks 1/2 inch. Waiting for the links I have some that lowered my bike to between 1" and 1.25", but not sure exactly since I haven't measured yet. This was just based off measurements for a 40mm drop. I went just a little less than that...

Its all about the links - its lowered!

Found some -20 millimeter lowering links from Perfection in UK. I'm estimating this will lower bike about 3/4 in. Looking for a little more stability when coming to a stop. Has anyone tried this size ?

Modify trunk and seat latches so they do not lock

Has anyone modified the seat and trunk latches so they do not lock. The bike is so rare that I don't think anyone would know to look in those areas and the threat of malfunction would be eliminated. Nothing worse than being on a ride and not being able to open the seat for fuel, especially on a...

    Clutch adjusting rubber cover

I also checked the dealer parts catalogue and didn't see one available for the NC. I noticed after making the adjustment that the slot in my adjuster was up. This could lead to water in the cable when riding in rain and worse for a bike that was parked outside for extended periods. Remembered my...

    Clutch adjusting rubber cover

Was just adjusting my clutch and noticed there was no rubber boot covering the adjusting mechanism. Is mine missing or is this normal and the factory decided this model doesn't need one.

    Need more power

Wy wife wants to ride on back and she is heavy. I'm going to need more power. Anyone know how large the NC 700 motor can be bored out to.

Sick of chain maintenance??? GO BELT!

Harley Davidsons suffer from a lot of rear wheel bearing failures. Belts require tension to work properly. Wondering if the NC 700 counter sprocket, swing arm and rear wheel bearings are designed for this constant tension

    12mm oil sump crush washer

I like to put the washers in the oven at 450 degrees, bake for 4 hours. Can you re-use a crush washer if you heat it to red heat and let it cool to room temp? Does that "re-inflate" it for want of a better word? cheers

    Welding parts on the bike

I'm with you on this. I have as much fun tinkering on my bikes as riding them. Used to own BMW airheads and part of the camaraderie was getting together to fix and maintain our bikes.
