Ah, I was hoping someone else noticed this... the throttle tamer sounds pretty nice. I'm skeptical that it's chain or sprocket issues, but more just lack of refinement in the throttle control and transition areas.

Either way it sounds like a mistake the shop made putting your bike back together. I would be curious if your bike was tuned previously for the aftermarket muffler. Accounting for the extra air is important and can cause plenty of performance related issues. If there was a tune in place...
For those purists interested, I have several torque wrenches calibrated on a yearly basis and verifiable with NIST traceability. I have not needed or wanted to change the sprocket yet, but I'd be more than glad to clear up the calibration issue on clean dry threads at the risk of stripping...
If your talking about the inside, it has been done before on different engines. There was a company in my area that rebuilt engines with all sorts of these fancy upgrades that would add a few percent performance and the coated exhausts were a big thing. Not exactly an outstanding increase...
Probably a 5 minute epoxy would work well. It's my default when there are weird materials going together. An excellent product for rubber is 3M's 1300L. It is unnecessarily strong but works great in a really wide number of applications.
I use it regularly to apply deice boots to aircraft wings...
