I agree - would love to see a larger cc version of this bike. Say 70 HP/ 55 mpg. Even if it gained 50 or 60 pounds somehow, it'd still be fun to ride, and pretty darned practical too. :) of course it's already pretty darned practical and fun to ride (to me) as is.
I get the big adventure bikes for most types riding-they're kind of like spiritual descendants of the old Japanese standard bikes from the 70's/80's. You can do pretty much anything with them. But for the riders that actually want to do a lot of off-road riding, I wish the manufacturers would...
Same here - I was pretty confident that the airflow was going WAY over the top of my helmet in the stock position, so I drilled new holes to drop mine 2" (maybe a little less). It works just the same as far as airflow over the top, with the added benefit of more wind protection from the bottom...
Although I would pay good money to the first company or individual to come up with a de-beak replacement panel for the NCX, I can live with it. What I NEVER got used to was the goofya#* beak shaped fender on my KLR. The hideous shape obviously wasn't aerodynamic, because at over 55 mph it looked...
Just throwing this out there as a wild card you might consider- there's a member on this forum who makes custom racks for this bike (johnakay). It was the first accessory I ordered when I bought the bike (wanted a passenger backrest-my rack has one built in) , and I've been really happy with it...
. ;)OK you got me. In all honesty, the last few years Bama has had a lot more at stake; therefore I'm usually leaning a little more in that direction. Roll Tide Roll....there, I said it! ( But I'm still wearing my plastic Razorback hat on Saturday :) )
Being a former Arkansan ( and always a Razorback fan) and a current Alabamian (and a huge Bama fan)- this is a game I wait for all year. My team wins either way;)!
The Honda Tall is 18.5 " tall I think. I tried it for a couple of months- stock, then drilling 1/2 " holes in the thing to relieve back pressure, then putting an adjustable deflector on it. I got the noise to a tolerable level, but the buffeting was horrible on it. I believe its just not wide...
Looked up some specs on it - they're claiming 476lbs wet weight for the ABS model. Pretty much dead even with a manual trans NC- even though it's carrying an extra brake disc + more fuel. The 1000 (which is also coming to the U.S.), is 75 lbs heavier but is even better looking in my opinion.
Anybody else notice the knobs on front of the windshield? Looks to be adjustable for height at least. It checks a lot of boxes for me- if it had 5.5 gallons under the seat and a frunk up top, I'd be in big trouble with the wife shortly.
:D Exactly- that's why I use the same simple old school gauge (that I keep in the frunk) every time I check my tires. You start checking one gauge against another and trying to figure out which one is right...makes my head hurt.
