I just replaced the shifting motor on my 2014 12k NC700X for a second time. First time was at 6K after having my bike at the Honda shop for 66 days and 3 failed repair attempts and me telling them to replace the shifting motor... So if your bike having trouble shifting and get stuck in gear...
So glad I was able to share my own experience and help you track down the issue and somehow limit the bleeding... My bike having gone through the same ordeal 2 years ago, it's obvious that this forum has proven more useful to diagnose the issue than Honda very own dealers/tech communications...
So, I eventually took the bike to service to address the persistent oil leak and as I was suspecting after visual inspection, the shifting motor seal was the culprit. It was replaced along with the shifting motor by my dealer last time the bike was in the shop following a long struggle with a...
Actually, just checked in the service manual, that hose is the gas tank drain and after further inspection, the oil is actually coming from the engine. I'll remove the left plastic fairing and take a closer look...
I noticed a small amount of oil discharge from one of the overflow tubes underneath the engine. Should that be a concern? My engine oil level is normal.
Your shifting motor may be acting up... Took the dealer 4 month to diagnose this on mine, bike only had 6K miles. You'll find the thread of my DCT nightmare here:

DCT Issue
It’s the other way around, batteries are designed to deliver clean and consistent power and automotive lithiums are no exception. I think it’s time to admit the fact that the only thing that was bad on my 6,300 miles NC was the shifting motor, not the oil, not the filters, not the clutch pack...
Yes but on their work orders it is clearly stated that, repairs are guaranteed 30 Days or 1,000 miles. The first three lasted, less than 10 miles or 15 minutes. I think that gives me a pretty good case.
Hi guys,
My dealer's service manager said the last repair bill (the shifting motor) was on the house but seems to imply that all other work was necessary. I disagree and already asked my credit cards to refund the charges from repair #1, #2 and #3 because they did nothing to fix the issue...
Good find. DCT starting to act up only after 20 minutes, same as mine. But I wonder where the 57 code popped up? He doesn't say how that code was traced.
