The right turn signal's wiring on my 2014 NC-700X has three wires, which I identify as Green, Blue, and Blue/White Stripe (I word it this way because I'm not sure of what the factory calls these colors).
A few years ago I dropped the bike and installed (among a fair number of other things) a...
Yesterday (Monday 4/10/23) the 2014 NC-700X and I did one of my two standard loops on rural county roads, this one 72 miles... with some trepidation. Almost a month ago a deer leaped into my 2018 DCT Gold Wing (my "Oh Deer...Again" thread, with a photo, is on the 2018-and-later board) and...
My local Battery Warehouse, with whom I've dealt for years (including 6v antique-car batteries), had a Powersonic PTZ12S at $80. I bought it, installed it, and fired up the NC. Pleasant sound.
Thanks for the advice. This is a great group!
After being away for 3 months, I charged the 2014 NC's (original) battery (at least the Sears charger "charged" light was steady), started the bike and rode 10 miles, then stopped for gas. Click-click, black screen... My jump battery was relaxing at home, where I wished I was, but a friend...
Wow, thanks, r3! The Partzilla pages for the 2014 NC700 and 2018 NC750 show the same part number. There must be a Private Message function here, though I've never used it.
After my 2014's 2020-Thanksgiving Day encounter with a deer (https://www.nc700-forum.com/threads/deer-damage.18171/) I keep finding more previously unnoticed damage.
Trying to salvage the right (as one is seated on the bike) Givi handguard, I found the 6mm screw provided with the handguard...
Progress report: New fender, radiator, reflector, and right footpeg; right Givi handguard was patched up and is serviceable. The rear brake pedal was ground down a bit and is now awkward to use (a lot of ankle twisting is required) --- even more than normal, I mean. I probably should do...
Good suggestion. I've only wheeled it from the tow company's flatbed into the driveway, and the forks weren't obviously twisted. But I wondered what got pushed against that radiator. I'm pretty sure I did hit a deer squarely, so perhaps the forks were pushed back without being twisted. There...
Thanksgiving Day, the 2014 NC and I were heading home on a semi-rural two-lane road at about 45 mph when a group (herd?) of about 10 deer suddenly blasted into the road from right-side trees. There was absolutely nothing I could do. I remember a blur of white and brown, then lying on the road's...
Probably not the right place for this, really a computer question, but when I decided to look at my own post of a few days ago earlier this morning, this came up:
Does someone know what's going on, and how to stop it? I tried closing and restarting Firefox to no effect. Looks like some kind of...
A short jaunt to pick up two states
A couple of long tours from Baltimore on my 2014 NC-700X accumulated quite a few states for my signature map, but nearby states DE and NJ were still blank, so when the weather looked good yesterday I decided to pick them up.
We left shortly after 9 AM...
Does anyone know about, or use, a Sears DieHard "Fully Automatic Battery Charger/Maintainer"? (Model 200.71219) It charges at 2A with 12v (and 4A with 6v, perhaps useful for my antique car). My Gold Wing battery can take a 2A rate but I don't know if the 2014 original NC battery will.
Guess I'm...
On yesterday's Skyline Drive ride (I posted a brief report in the "What Did You Do Today" thread), when I fired up the 2014 NC after a lunch stop this warning light did not go out. After riding around the parking area a little it stayed on, so I parked it again to look more closely. Wiggling the...
