I currently have optional OEM grab rails that have the OEM side cases installed. I want to install an OEM top case and found this rack rack for sale. Can someone tell me if this rack bolts directly to the grab rails that I currently have, or is there another series of crazy parts that I have to buy?

Unless I am mistaken, you already have the crazy part since you have the accessory rail. Look at the back of your bike now, does it have that same platform with the notches at the rear?

Incidentally I checked RMATV and they have the topcase for $320, if you haven't seen a better price (part 08L55-EWL-100E)

Since you have the Honda saddlebags and mounts (which means or includes the alternate grab handles), all you should need is that plate and mount bolts (and of course the Honda top case). Verify the mount (including holes) as suggested by Janus and you'll know whether it mates together properly.

***EDIT:
I see the grab handles in your other thread. See the mount holes through them near the rear? They are where the Honda plate you show in this thread mounts. Bolt it on and you're ready to snap the Honda top case right on.

OBTW, you'll almost certainly have to loosen a couple of mount bolts for those grab handles in order to get the top case mount plate to go in-between. Once the top mount plate is in place, loosely assemble those four mount bolts, then re-tighten the grab handle mount bolts, then finally tighten the four top place mount bolts.

Thanks again folks. I just ordered the setup. I hope things work out better this time. I found the top case for $250 and mount for $130 on Ebay

If everything fits, I should be able to order a matching key cylinder from the dealer down the street

Have you seen the threads here on the board about the lock cylinder? The factory top case uses a completely different cylinder and key vs. what the saddlebags and ignition switch use. That means that as it comes from Honda, you will _not_ have a single key for ignition, frunk, and all luggage pieces.

My not-necessarily-precisely-accurate memory on this topic is that someone here shared how they modified the top case to accept a lock cylinder that let them use the same key as the saddlebags, but it doesn't come from Honda that way unless they've made a running change quite recently. Search around a bit if you haven't run across this already.

The 'One Key' cylinder is available
(08M70-MJE-D03 tumblers MSRP $20)

I think it's supposed to fit. The sleeve on the topcase looks to be about the same size as the sleeve on the saddlebags. I seem to recall Honda's web sight saying that all the luggage could be opened with the ignition key if you had all the accessories...

Thanks for the heads up. I'll look into all that once I know everything is going fit. Even if I end up having to carry an extra key, it's not the end of the world

Well, like I said, Honda may have changed things relatively recently. I have every accessory Honda makes (made at the time) on my ‘12, and the one-key system does (did?) not apply to the top case unless you modify things yourself.

Sorry I don’t have a bookmark for the thread that outlines how one member accomplished the change.

New grab handles (you should have these already for the side case mounts):

Here is where the top mounting plate bolts on to the handles:
