Fitted my Fakerapovic and Hagon rear shock. I was going to fit m Wirth front springs and 10wt oil but two of the fender bolts rounded off and I don't have replacements. Stainless steel replcements duly ordered. Once here I'll nuke the oldones out and get on with the front suspension service.

How’s the performance of the hagon?

First ride of 2021! It was 35° F here in Wisconsin, and the snow has all melted off of the road surface. Also key, there was some rain drizzle overnight that has washed the majority of the salt off of the roads. Remember kids: You don't have to winterize your bike if you never stop riding!

Sadly, I am far too lazy to have taken a picture of my ride.

I went on a somewhat short ride and got my engine nice and hot so I could drain my oil to start the dreaded Major Service Interval process. I dropped the oil pan bolt in the draining oil and it splashed oil on my sweatpants

After a NASCAR pitcrew-worthy quick change, I came back out and dropped my oil filter wrench thingy into the now-deep oil.

Hi,
I only recently got the bike and its to be my daily commuter for travelling into London (UK) and back. The roads are full of potholes, so I'm looking to put some soft, compliant suspension on there, as the current set up is bone jarringly harsh! The front is still so harsh I initially thought I'd wasted my money on the Hagon, but realised you're still dealing with the whack from the front end, so not getting the chance to notice what, if anything, the rear shock is doing.

By the time I'd got to work, I realised its actually working very well. We have painted road markings and corrugated road surfaces approaching some junctions, which were rattling my teeth with the old shock. With the new set up my hands were vibrating as I crossed these but no vibration at all though the seat! So, it looks like it's pretty good at doing what I want from it. Worth noting that I'm not looking for any kind of sport performance from it. Can't wait to get the new springs in to hopefully compliment the Hagon...

Today I removed the MRA style wind deflector. No matter what way I angle this it causes turbulence, so i'll see if its better without it. My 750x had soem slidey screen adjuster brackets and I don't recall suffering turbulence with those fitted/adjusted?

I fitted some of the ubiquitous Chinese hand guards. I can't recall fitting any aftermarket part with such ease. What a bang for your buck, errr quid, they are!

I then failed miserably at removing the rounded off fender bolts. I can't quite work out how a material that rounds off so easily manages to prevent any removing tools being tapped into it! War has been declared, but i've had to break for dinner...

I did this modification and that fixed your problem

Spilled oil all over the garage. Luckily I had put down newspaper and cardboard just in case but wowee. Also spilled a fair amount of antifreeze.

On the plus side, not only did my valves not need adjustment, but I also found the missing airbox screw I lost in November. It lodged itself between the radiator overflow hose and the frame. I now have another spare bolt.

Topped off the tank yesterday with a little Sta-Bil 360 mixed in. Rode it for a bit to work it all in. Today, weatherman says "cold" for a bit, so I pulled the battery. Accessories start arriving tomorrow.

I bought a battery tender Jr today since I neglected to start my bike in over a month. It's been too cold in Ohio to do anything outside.

If it has been cold, the battery may actually be in better shape because you did not start the bike. If there is no parasitic drain, self discharge is minimal in cold weather.

Welcome to the forum neighbor.

I think a battery tender is a good idea, I've been using them for a long time.

After my bazoopers in the garage I decided to wash my bike. Practically the perfect day too, 45° and overcast. I couldn't completely feel my hands afterwards, but my wife sure could! She wasn't happy about it though.

Also while riding around I noticed my left turn signal bulb isn't operating normally. It comes on as a turn signal, but it doesn't stay on as a daytime running light like the right one does. I tried pushing the clip together but it didn't seem to do anything. I couldn't unclip it and put it back together due to the space it's in.

Anyone have any ideas which might preclude me having to take the cowl off to unclip and reseat the plug?

Assuming your front turn signals are not LEDs. did you check the bulb (the prime suspect)? I had an early life running light filament failure on my CRF dual sport. Had to replace the bulb.
