What is the availability of the NC750X DCT in the U.S.A.? Especially California.

You need to bring your bike down to SoCal and do a trade-in once you find a dealer with the new bike you want. Selling prices are insane, but unless you can wait about 8 months, no way to get a good deal on anything new.

Waiting for my dealer in Redding to get one in and we already made a deal at 11k total with Ca tax etc.

Hard for me to believe that my new ‘12 NC was under $7K total, and now ten years later they’re going for $11K. I guess that’s how inflation works.

Hope your new bike arrives soon.

$2200 Additional Dealer Markup?

We don't have that here where I live

My wife just bought a 2022 Ford Mustang Convertible for well under MSRP

I feel so sorry for you chaps in California when it comes to pricing on almost anything...housing, fuel, vehicles.. probably food too

My 2021 was just over 9K, no additonal dealer markup. Guess it depends on where you live, or if you are willing to let them take advantage of you

When I shop, the Midwest seemed to generally have the lowest Honda motorcycle pricing in the USA. The east and west coasts were higher.

But in these times, a dealer that had never previously charged a destination fee was doing so. I walked away.

Unfortunately, this is the new normal.
I read on the GM Authority website that Mary Bara, the CEO of GM, stated that going forward GM will change their production and dealer allocations to permanently follow the pandemic adjustment to supply and demand.
No more 60-90 day dealer supply and over-production to keep product flowing.
Everything will be dealer orders at MSRP or above to the customer.
She said GM needs this model to make profit with reduced production continuing into the foreseeable future.

I don't see motorcycle production being any different.

GM and efficient, that is an oxymoron if I ever heard one.

No real mark-up, it's the same everywhere in Ca. A lot less than an African Twin. Tax etc is high here.
Silver Rocket's dealer invoice tag in post #21 (from Los Angeles Ca) showed an ADM (Additional Dealer Markup) fee of nearly 2 grand for a price of $11,894 which DOESN'T INCLUDE tax, title and registration fees. You won't find that ADM on invoices here in the midwest, at least not at my local shop, or in any shops that I have seen.

Silver Rocket posted what looks like a tag hanging on an unsold motorcycle. Those may be dealer fantasy numbers to make anything less sound like a good deal. I would hope nobody would actually pay that much.

Prices are different in different places for a variety of reasons. Price of carrots is up but no grocer has to add X to MSRP of carrots because there is no MSRP for carrots. They just post a higher price. You want carrots you pay. If you think the price is too high, you walk.

Vehicles in North America have MSRP so dealers adjust their prices to market with a variety of different fees or names for fees on top of MSRP. That’s called a free market. Demand and supply have huge influences on market price.

Pay scales are similar. Appliance repairmen are paid on a different scale in CA compared to other states.

A good motorcycle price here may be too high over there. These are interesting times.

We do have that where we live. Wyler Chevrolet told me they expected to get $5k-$15k over MSRP for a new Silverado and wouldn't honor a GMS (employee) discount. Castrucci honored the GMS price.

I know that Bara must be smarter than I am otherwise I'd be the CEO of GM. However, I don't believe her new business model will be sustainable. I do believe the 60-90 day overproduction will disappear - that's the Toyota Production System/Lean Manufacturing premise. I don't believe that customers will be willing to pay over MSRP when that can buy any non-GM for less.

Interesting. Wyler Chevrolet just offered to sell my wife a 2022 Camaro under MSRP, but she wanted a Mustang which she bought for under MSRP.

I had read that GM said it was OK for dealers to do that, but Ford said if they found dealers gouging customers that they would punish them.

Have you seen it at any MC shops around here? Did they have it in Louisville where you bought your new bike?

It's mostly supply and demand, but California is especially high.

Perhaps Wyler overestimated how much I wanted their truck. They thought the I would pay for paint sealant, interior fabric conditioner, and a blinking 3rd brake light, too.

I haven't spent a lot of time in motorcycle shops lately but my past experience with dealers around here is that they pretty much stick with MSRP. However, I did get a discounted CB750 from Western Hills Honda when before they closed.

When I emailed the Louisville dealer about price and availability, they texted a price so far under MSRP that I thought it was a mistake. I asked them recheck it and she texted me a picture of the bike with the same price on it. I couldn't dial my phone fast enough to put a deposit on it. Picked it up the next morning.
