2022: What did you do to/with your NC700/NC750 today?

Took it out of winter storage for first ride of the 2022 season, and tried out the newly installed Dale's Rack.
The rack was good for about 90% of my 90 minute ride, as it didn't interfere with my seating comfort.
However, whenever I needed to give my legs and back a stretch while riding, I had contact with the rack.
So after my ride, off it came, and it will only be re-installed when I actually need it, which likely isn't going to be very often.
It is only a 60 second operation to remove the 3 nuts holding the rack to the seat base and reinstalling the pillion seat.
As you can see, my driver seat is a Seat Concepts, not the stock seat.
Whether that makes a difference or not, I'm not sure.
But I am a big guy.

I can see where that rack might jam you up a bit if you are a big guy. Im a munchkin and sit up against the tank so I probably wouldnt notice.

Today I installed the LeoVince slip-on that I purchased from member Lee Dodge, who not only gave me a great deal, but also packed it perfectly and sent quickly. It's in great condition and sounds so much better than the stock pipe. Looks nice too. My daughter didn't understand why we buy aftermarket pipes and then we went for a ride and she was like "yeah, I get it now."

have one of these with baffle removed, keep your in, very difficult to put it back in :)
btw your install is a bit off, carbon holder needs to have the upper part on the inner side

I remember reading that but when I tried it this seemed better. But thankfully it’s one screw to fix so thanks for the message!

Yep, you probably guessed that I had the holder turned around, which I did. Lined up just right for the back side when it was on correctly. It’s always the little things.

96 mile country curvy roads ride with a stop at Popeye's for some spicy fried chicken for lunch, then a stop at a Dairy Isle for a dip top vanilla cone for dessert. When I got home, adjusted the chain and lubed it. Wasn't off much but it had been about 5,000 miles so it got 1/4 turn on the adjusters, which brought it to 35 mm slack on the centerstand. Will turn over 13,000 miles on it in a few days days.

Replaced the chain yesterday; the chain was on there had a couple of kinked links (I could move them myself but were kinked) and I noticed the removable link had a missing o-ring....The new chain didnt come with a clip-on link so I had to use the rivet link....took me a while to remember how to do that (only the 2nd one I ever done). I had bought a motion pro chain link press but it didnt come with directions and couldnt figure out how to use it, so I got out my other rivet press (which only does one rivet at a time). I havent checked my records yet but the old one (the first I had ever did a rivet link on) has at least 30,000 miles on it-not too bad for my first ever rivet link...took me about an hour from start to finish, including the time I spent trying to figure out how to use the motion pro tool....

Edit: checked my records yesterday....the old chain was on there for only 20,000 miles. Besides a couple of stiff links, not in bad shape...Going to keep it as a backup chain....going to clean it up and see how it goes...

Sad day, I had the NC parked on the center stand and due to the torrential rain we’ve had the past couple of days...., I walked past my front window a couple of times and the bike was upright and covered. Then I walked past the window and was nearly horrified...., yup you guessed it!! It was still covered but laying on its right side flat on the ground! Ugh!! Though I did not get a picture of it flat on its side, here is the bike back upright and placed on a new parking pad that I thought I’d share with others in case you too may be faced with a precarious parking position or condition. Feel free to rob and duplicate!

I feel your pain. My covered pristine '99 VFR800, in 2018, got blown over in a thunderstorm in the parking lot--not on the center stand, lesson learned--and I ended up with a cracked fairing and a severely bent brake lever. I actually came to love the brake lever because it played well with my two finger cover. I hope you didn't sustain any serious damage.

I often wondered what one looked like. Good to know :)

On a couple of my bikes the pillion footrests are low enough for me to rest my feet on them, thereby changing pelvis position when my back needs a rest from the same position. I often do it on long stretches of open road where I won't need to change gear.

Wired up some LED spots attached to the engine guards---used a Healtech Thunderbox--took longer to reattach the rubber strap to the battery then to hook up the wires--start the bike and the lights come on after a few seconds--stop the bike and they shut off---there is space to wire additional farkles to the Thunderbox leads in the future if I want to do a phone charger or ???--the lights ($26) came from Walmart and they are plenty bright and relatively small

Never tried that, but I don't think that is even possible for me to bend and contortion to reach the pillion pegs on the NC.

Day 103 of riding for the year...55 degrees ...took off in a slight drizzle, but it quit about 15 miles into the 49 mile ride. When I got home and added to my journal found out I was 3 miles short of 5K miles for the year. Will get that and more tomorrow (Mother's Day) lol
