2023: What did you do to/with your NC700/NC750 today?

My friend likes the NC's a lot but "feels" safer on a Spyder so i'm all for it if that is all it takes to get her out and riding! Now, she tells me she rides it nearly every day to work/home and loves riding it! They are pretty neat looking, and i'm glad she is on it and out riding. :{)

That is my wife and daughter. They are out on theirs 3 or 4 times per week.

More riding today in the Smokies. Some observations: my planned loops took me through the Tail of the Dragon twice today - a Saturday. It was total crazy/silly/insanity southbound. Fortunately I was northbound. First there were a couple hundred bicycles running the Dragon to Robbinsville. Then there were what seemed like a couple thousand mini motos in the area (Groms, Monkeys, scooters). Then came a train of Smart Cars. Lining up next was a parade of a maybe hundred Volkswagens (Beetles, microbus, VW based dune buggies). Then there were many, many Polaris Slingshots here for the week, too. The only thing I had clogging up the northbound was an over length, illegal FR3 motorhome. Those Killboy/Slayer/129 photographers sure had a rough day snapping thousands of photos.

After seeing 4 bears yesterday, today I saw 6 more. I have never seen so many bears on a Smokies trip before.

A highlight today was getting to ride the Parson Branch road out of the Smoky Mountains Park. It begins in Cades Cove and terminated at one of the curves on US129/Dragon. I have not been able to ride this 8 mile gravel road since forum member Bamamate and I did it at the “Southern Get Together” in 2013. Here is a photo from then, when my NC was grey and mostly stock:

And now today here I am again:

The Parson Branch is fun. I tried it once on the Goldwing two up but failed because the road was rutted from being driven on wet, and the Goldwing lacked the ground clearance needed. The NC did it well, albeit quite slowly. It would be a breeze on a dual sport. Anyway in the 8 miles there are 18 small water crossings like shown below. 15 had water running. I suspect when the road is muddy or the water is high, the road is closed, as I often find when I pass it on the Dragon. BTW, it is one way out of the park; you cannot enter from the Dragon. The Parson Branch is mostly downhill, and a little steep at times if you want to go slow. Once I stopped for 5 minutes to cool the brakes. There is not much engine braking available with the NC.

It was a great day. I rode about 220 miles.

What a pretty place to ride.

I get my haircuts at the latino place. It's half the price for the same result, and I don't have to understand the ads on the radio.
I was told CA made it illegal to charge women more than men for haircuts. They probably add a bunch of specific fees in practice...

Normal loop through the Santa Monica mountains today. Still far too green/yellow/purple for the season. Beautiful. It should all be brown and gray already
Sky's gone from May Gray to June Gloom and we haven't seen 80 degrees more than a handful of days this year. Barely hit 70 a few times in May. 50s at night. Not stereotypical SoCal weather.

A few pics from last weeks trip to the UK over approx 2000kms. Weather held out. I was with a group of nine. Four Hondas (of which three NC's) and 5 BM's. The three NC's were keeping fuel consumption between 78 and 82 mpg Imperial. The three were very consistent. 82 was when travelling as a group and 78 when alone.

During the course of the above trip we came across this very old bridge. Photos are self explanatory. Picture two is a photo of a painting from the year 1780 to promote the bridge. Its still in good shape but only carrying foot traffic nowadays.

I have heard of it. I think it my be shown on our PBS network.

Glad you don't think it's broken , bummer and sorry murphy struck! I'm going to try to pull front wheel and forks off black NC700X DCT and drop wheel off to get tire changed ( Pirelli Diablo Rosso III"s Front tire bald after 1000 miles , back tires ok ) , than try to do the fork seals and oil change. It'll be a challenge since left hand is basically in a monkeys fist after 4 neck surgeries and just had carpal tunnel on my rt hand 4 weeks ago. Don't think I can install the Cognet shock on red NC700X DCT without help
I am so bummed. I have been looking forward to riding the NC out to Rwading for an airshow like I did last year. It was such a blast last year.
Unfortunately I still can’t consistently use the clutch, I tried yesterday & didn’t even make it out of the neighborhood…:(IMG_2340.jpegIMG_2342.jpeg
I took my wife’s PCX150 for a 40 mile ride just to get some riding in.
Here are a few pics form last year:

Sorry ,get yourself a older NC 700X DCT , for just a little more than you could sell your NC for ( than mod it for your riding style . My left hand can't operate the clutch ,paddle shifters turn signals ( can do the horn :)) ) after 4 neck surgeries. But I've been modifying the suspension on my NC's so I can still tickle my toes ( old ex roadracer ) and I'm still having a blast riding the technical Twisties in the Sierra's Today I rode 180+ miles checking out the Cognet shock that I got off a member here ( thanks drdubb it works great ) Was going to try to go to Loon Lake but the thunder and rain made me turn west on Wentworth Springs ,but I did 3 laps from ice house to stumpy meadows res and back than went to Georgetown and Coloma placerville apple hill and back to Pollock pines and home. Have to redo the plastic weld on the outside of my toes again.

20 miles into work today. 43°, sunny skies, light winds, and I was bundled up like Ralphie's little brother! But man it was nice. Looking forward to the return 20
wenjen - can you tell me if you are able to fully lock your bars with the Honda touring screen and your Barkbusters please? It looks like it from one of the photos you‘ve posted, but I wanted to check. Also - can you speak to how it works at highway speeds? The short screen is fine for around town, but I need a different solution for faster speeds. Thank you!
