It's fine, it's smooth, it still has a little power left to pass running 75-80 even with the larger frontal area that comes along with a Madstad shield and Barkbusters. There is little vibration, the mirrors are clear, and the NC is very stable up to its top speed of about 100. It runs for hours...
My dad taught me how to use a feeler gauge on a 1970 Honda 50. I’ve thanked him countless times over the years for the things I learned from him. My feeler guages quite possibly date from 1970 as he gave me my first stocked tool box. I have my own version of go/no go petals. I remove the knurled...
I don't know what exact model Denali horn is on your bike but if it is mounted so that rain water can fill the trumpet ( the hollow part where the sound comes out) can you just change the orientation of the horn so the trumpet won't hold water? It doesn't make a huge difference in the volume...
In the US Honda makes official copyrighted manuals available only through Helm. You can order them from a Honda dealer but Helm is the exclusive supplier. Other markets may be different.
While it is interesting that Honda omitted the annual recommendation on the 2002 Goldwing the Q was asked of the NC750's service intervals and my 2012, 2015, 2013 NCs all have the 12 month or 8,000/16,000 mile recommendation. I expect the 2021-2024 manuals have not changed that. I have the...
My 2013 owners manual & service manual shows engine oil changes at 8,000 miles or annually. The DCT variant has its own filter and it is changed at 16,000 miles. I'm pretty sure my 2015 manual was the same.
I've not seen a Honda motorcycle yet that didn't have the "xxxx miles or annually"...
I'm using Rox adjustable risers rotated back about 10 degrees and found I needed to rotate the bars forward a little to get the wrist angle I do well with.
Looks are subjective of course but I've often said the Madstads aren't "lookers" but I've never found a wind management system better not only on 2012-2020 NCs (never ridden a 2021+) but on other bikes I have owned.
I would understand "lack of use" in this context as chronically discharged and as you know this kills batteries before their time.
Heat is also hard on batteries. I keep mine in a high state of charge mostly from use - riding each bike weekly if not more normally for 1 to 5 hours but I will...
The practical limit on 2012-2020 NCs is about 20mm drop on the forks. Under braking the fender extender on my 2013 just barely rubs against the lower radiator stay.
The NC750S omitted the frunk storage compartment that the X model has. I think you will be happy with either bike. The Suzuki is well loved by many and has more power if that is important to you but we love our NC700/750s too. The power is adequate and the fuel economy and operating costs will...
I appreciate your opinion and don't disagree that there is a lot of BS in Honda marketing nevertheless one can't really dispute the commonality of the technology in this motorcycle engine and that of Honda automobile engines and that mix of low tech and high tech was the "special things" project...
The 11 day IBA rally ship has sailed for me but I think I have another SS1000 or BBG in the future. I wasn't successful in the 2015 attempt and the last time I checked no one had done a BBG on an NC.
One of our members ld_rider completed the Iron Butt Rally a few years ago with a similar set up. There's been another one or two auxiliary tank installations that I can't recall the forum member's name.
Yours is much more well done than the one I did to make 250 miles @ 80 mph fuel stops...
While the "half a Jazz/Fit engine" story did come out of a joke the NC project team leader shared with a room full of motorcycle journalists there is some substance to the story behind the offhand comment. For the first time in known Honda Motor Co history, that motorcycle project team met...
