    Loud Cluck - front forks

I've been experiencing a loud clunk when I brake very hard or hit a pot hole hard. In other words when the front forks compress beyond a certain point, a sharp solid clunk is heard. The noise sometimes occurs after I release the brake, sometimes while braking, and always when hitting bumps hard...

    Question for Madstad owners

Does anyone using a Madstad windscreen also have hand guards on their bike? I appear to have a serious clearance issue:

What's the lowdown on lowdown kits?

I wouldn't mind a slightly lower seat height but have never given low down kits a second look. Most of the kits lower of the rear by 25mm, 30 mm and even 50mm. My big concern is how does this affect handling (rake, trail, balance)? My interest in lowdown kits was piqued by the set offered by...

    Old School Rear Rack

Since I don't plan to add any hard cases, I went with a Kijima rack - the non-sliding one. It's the perfect perch for my Motocentic tail bag. Install is a breeze. Remove the grab rails, line up the rack with the grab rail mounting holes, and reinstall the rails. 10 minutes max.

    Water Temperature Gauge

Has anyone installed a water temperature gauge on their NC700/750? I ran across this item on the internet: https://www.2wheelpartssupply.com/trail-tech-temperature-meter.html Any thoughts?

    Babyface Frame Sliders

Latest farkle: Easy to install - remove 3 bolts on each side, attach mounting plates, then attach sliders. Purchased from Samurider.com. Takashi threw in a free shop rag with the shipment, shown in the first picture.

    DPM Rear Hugger

This DPM rear hugger was purchased from Paul at the NC700 shop. Paul was a pleasure to work with and promptly answered all my questions. The DPM (De Pretto Moto) is pricy ($175 shipped) but IMHO it's worth the price. The hugger is aluminum and the mounting bracket is a massive piece of steel...

    SP Tadao Slip-on Exhaust Installed

This install has been a bit of an adventure. I ordered the exhaust from Samurider on January 20th and received it about 10 days later. Unfortunately one of the pipes suffered a ding before it left Japan: I paid $100 for return shipping and asked Takashi to use that money towards a $120...

Need help removing rear brake line guide bolts

Help! There are two hex bolts holding the rear brake line guide on the top right side of the swingarm. I have tried removing them but the bolts turn and turn without screwing out. The bolts screw directly into the swingarm and there is nothing underneath the swingarm to hold or unscrew...

    Honda Tall Windscreen Mod

The Honda tall windscreen is 140mm taller and 80mm wider than the stock windscreen. While providing extra wind protection, it also introduced unwanted wind noise (whipping flag noise) for me (I'm 6'1"). Yesterday I took a jig saw to the screen and lopped off 4 inches from the top in hopes of...

    Plot Skid Plate

I installed this skid plate today. The skid plate is available in silver or black and is listed Honda's Japanese accessory catalog. They are pricy at about $330 shipped. But I couldn't resist the black version on my bike. Install required removing 4 stock brackets and installing 7 new...

    License Plate Bracket

Not as easy to do as on my CB1100, but losing the bracket improves the look IMHO. I don't ride at night so side reflectors aren't needed and aren't required by law in my state.

    First Ride

I received my new 2014 black NC700X last Thursday and had my first chance to ride today after the ice on my long driveway finally melted enough to get out. Averaged 54.8mpg on a 2 hour ride which included extensive time on dirt and gravel roads. It was very muddy in spots: But the...

    SP Tadao Twin Tail Slip-on

I might have to start saving my pennies, about 100,000 of them, for this unusual slip-on for the NC-700. While this slip-on would certainly make the bike unique, it's difficult to get my head around a two into one into two exhaust. The good news is that this slip-on allows for...

Chain cover, skid plate, full exhaust

I'm new to the forum and won't even get my new NC700X until late next week. But I've been learning a lot on this great forum. I'm curious if anyone has any of these modifications on their bike, and if so how do you like them: Plot "under-cover" (aluminum skid plate): Puig rear fender /...

    Another new NC700X owner

I've been doing some internet research for a second motorcycle and have been seriously considering the Honda CB500X and the NC700. Today I stopped by my local dealer to sit on a sale bike, a 2013 in black. Luckily my favorite salesman was there. He showed me a "new" 2013 CB500X, a rather...
