Rider magazine April 2017 NC700X review

Anyone else think most of those magazine reviews skew way too positive? It's almost like they don't want to alienate their advertisers, right? The only negative reviews I can recall were for Royal Enfields, which did help me decide to steer clear of the brand. I looked at Guzzis, Triumphs...

How about a game of NC tag? Its a lot of fun!

New tag---Show your bike with two street signs that are somehow related, like Martini Dr. and Olive Way. Creativity is encouraged, and stretch the connection as far as you want. Like, it could be Sargent Dr. and York Blvd., since those are the two guys that played Darren on "Bewitched"...

I guess 'city art' is the new tag? Let me know if this fits, and if so, I can toss out a new challenge.

    Still going strong...NC700x with sidcar

Mileage is still pretty good. I have been thinking about this a bit. It would be handy for hauling gear and maybe bringing my dog along for the ride on nice days. How about the handling, especially in the rain? And did it knock down your top speed?

Does 2015 nc700x manual have a gear indicator?

I have the year/model in question and mine has it. I did not think anything of it until I hit the road and found it is a nice thing to have, especially with an engine so quiet. In the picture posted above, it is the blank box, blank because it is in neutral. If you are in gear, you see...

What revs do you cruise around on

I don't know that I've ever hit the rev limiter. It just feels like the engine wants a higher gear around 4000. I don't ride on the highway much at all, so I can lug around all I want. I don't feel like I am, though. Cruising flat ground, 2500-3000 feels right--not spinning too hard, but...

    NC700 showcased at AIM Expo

I was at the AIM motorcycle show in Orlando yesterday (very big, very cool). The NC700 was the showcase piece for Honda America: They let patrons ride one on the dyno, mostly to show off the auto option, it seemed. They also had another model on display, which must be a 2017...

    2017 nc700x

I am planning to hit the AIM expo in Orlando in a couple weeks. I'll be looking for the new nc's, and I'll try to report and post some pics. I assume most 2017's will be out there, but I've never been to the show before. American Honda is among the epic list of exhibitors attending...

How about a game of NC tag? Its a lot of fun!

^Just kidding. I have a dome house that would have worked nearby, but I never saw the challenge before it was claimed. There is not one mountain in Florida. But, I might be able to find a cargo ship if I can make it out to the port later this week.

Pardon the interruption, but I could not bear to let two photos of dog parks go by with no dogs! I got a photo on my bike today: ^This beautiful German Shepherd pup was just on her way in. Bonus gator(not in the dog park, but close by): Back to the concrete bridge / graffiti...

fuel economy with passenger and trunk

On a bicycle, an "aero-trunk" like the one below improves efficiency and top speed. Presumably, if you were burning gas, it would improve fuel economy. So, it would not be a big surprise if your mileage was better with the trunk.

It's actually called 'bottle green flamboyant', which was as close to BRG as I could get with some metallic flash, along with 'sparkle silver metallic' panels, gold lining and decals, and chrome in all the traditional spots. I have all the components ready to go, and yes, it was quite a process...

How about a game of NC tag? Its a lot of fun!

This crusty old touring bike has taken me through so much: 30 miles a day commuting for 5 years 'Super Randonneur' status twice 1000k in 4 days 300 miles in a day But, it's about to become my official 'rain bike' when my new Bob Jackson arrives from England in a couple weeks...

Big time adventure riding in my garage

I nearly dropped mine in a parking lot, by not realizing that the kickstand was only half-way down. (My old bike did not allow the kickstand to settle in the middle like that!). I was able to keep the bike from touching down using my bulging pecs and lats. Seriously: Visually verify the...
