Thanks, that is a good photo. The screws that come with it fit the new mounting bracket at the top two holes but it will not fit the original mounting nuts that are a smaller diameter.
Anyone have any idea what the two captive nuts welded on the two small brackets are used for?
Does someone have a close up photo of the Honda Tall Touring windscreen mounted? I just bought one use with the mounting bracket but I have no idea how it goes together. A photo would be appreciated or a link to a site with instructions.
Thanks a lot.
I installed my Shad side cases and took the bike for its first shakedown ride with them in place. The bike is new, about 750 miles on it and up to the time I put the bags on I was averaging about 75 mpg. This is taking it easy on acceleration and cruising speed. Today with the bags my...
I have not installed the mounting bracket yet but others have and this page on the forum at the bottom has photos of the Shad side cases and top box.

Funny! I like the description, it put a very nice image of the imaginary blonde passing by. BTW, be careful if you are driving in traffic and she is in the convertible next to you or walking on the sidewalk. Not to say that ever happened to me but you can't be too observant, I mean careful.
Thanks to posters on this forum, I saved $227 purchasing the Shad SH36 sidecases and the mounting brackets. The cases are well put together, include an extra lockset in the event you later purchase a topcase so that one key fits all cases and they are very smart looking. I got the cases off of...
The Traveling Biker
Anyone remember the TV show from the early 90's that had a father and his teenage son traveling from town to town on his Harley Heritage Softail? They would remain in the town for a period of time and then move on to another. It was sort of like Route 66 without the...
How many miles on your bike when the timing chain broke? On autos I have only had a timing belt break after 100,000 miles on only one car. It seems a chain should be almost a lifetime part unless it was defective.
Some of the best trips I've taken is when I avoided the interstates and pointed the bike in the direction I wanted to go and just went. I would like to do so on a scale that is planned and not just serendipitous. I would like to make a trip from Louisiana toward the Canadian border and would...
I've had my NC five weeks now and about to hit the 600 mile mark and the oil change. I have the center stand, a Sargent seat, the foam grips and today ordered the Shad SH36 cases and mounts. They seem to be the best in that size category, (36 Liters) and have the advantage of a clean looking...
I received an email from them yesterday, Sunday, explaining that one of the items in my order is on back order without a date as to when it will be available. They wanted to find out what i wanted them to do.
Yes, last night, Saturday night, after all of the stores that could have motorcycle oil on their shelves were closed. I was in the middle of putting oil back into the bike when I knocked over the gallon jug of Honda oil. It's amazing how quickly two quarts of oil can come gushing out a jug that...
I have narrowed my search to the Shad P3 cases and am close to ordering. What do you think of the setup and how do you like the construction of the cases?
Has anyone had a negative experience with ProCaliber? On the 24th I placed an order for a front and rear sprocket for a W650 and three oil filters for my NC700 to bring the total cost to the free shipping total. They sent an email with the order number and an expect date for the shipment of next...
Je voudrais faire un voyage de moto au Québec un jour pour pratiquer mon français. Si vous vous trouvez en Louisiane envoyez-moi un message et vous pouvez monter avec moi sur un de mes motos pour explorer la Louisiane.
The radiator guard looks good and will do the job. I have a question of another nature. I have seen a couple riders in the past who put a farmer's bandana on their bikes. What is the significance?
I went for the Sargent, mainly for price. I have put about 200 miles on it with 100 being the longest ride. It works fine for me, I use padded bicycle riding shorts underneath and it is an improvement over the OEM. If money were no object I would probably go with the Russell Day long, but being...
