The handguards are Barkbuster Storm. I like them because they have a strong aluminum bar as the backbone that the plastic wind guards fasten to. Yes they do protect from the wind and bugs. They also protect the levers when the bike falls over.
Packing up and heading out on an 8 day trip this afternoon. Leaving work at 11am. Head home, pack, then meet up with friends at 1pm. Hope I don't forget anything!
My garage looks like a tornado hit it with gear all over the place. Need to fit it all in and get on my way.

I change my own.
I have used the 'Zip Tie Method" (look it up on YouTube) to do many tires. The Rear tire on my ST1300 is such a bear I paid to have it mounted once, then found a friend with a tire change machine the next times. I highly recommend a tire change machine over the Zip Tie Method.
A friend had the Versys 300X for a few years and it was very capable. I believe he went up a tooth on the front sprocket to lower the revs a bit.
He sold it this spring and bought a Yamaha FZ-07 and likes it better as it is not as "revvy" and is better on the freeway than the 300x. His...
Rode in to work today. First reasonable riding day after a few weeks of HOT HUMID weather.
Saturday, I did an oil & filter change. 6500 miles on the oil and it was a dark amber (not black at all). Was planning to go the full 8000 miles, but I have a trip coming up in two weeks that would...
I think they have two types. One is an engine case guard that hugs tight. The other is the crash bars that stick out.
I have the "crash" bars on my NC.
That chain is kinked and will only get worse, not better. I say buy a replacement and change it when you change the rear tire (or before if it gets worse).
I too bought sprockets and a chain together. I have 11,000 miles on the OEM chain and no kinks so far. I'll decide when the time comes if...
Try them and let us know. Go ahead an push it over!
I installed the R-Gaza bars on my 2015 700X. I unexpectedly tested them one day and they worked great.
Many people like the Shinko 705 tires. I tried them and hated them. They changed how the bike handled. I switched back to street tires and sold the 705's after only 100 miles.
My stock Dunlap was about bald at 4000 miles, too.
I replaced them with Bridgestone T31 front and rear. I like them a lot. Decent price and good performance.
I have 6000 miles on the rear and it looks like I have at least a few thousand miles left in them, maybe more.
Left the house this morning for work. Pulled onto the main road and heard a clanking sound. Saw something in the road flopping around in the mirror.
I forgot to latch the lid on my Tusk pannier and the lid flew off at 40mph! Doh! Turned around and picked it up before it got ran over. Corners...
