Question Falling in a state of passive mind

Riding somewhat above the speed limit is certainly something that I also do, with respect of the speedlimit that is though. The problem with that now in The Netherlands is that for all my life I have had a speedlimit of 120km per hour. So I usually drove 130km/h which with correction would bring...

Question Falling in a state of passive mind

Hi everybody, I have got some bad experiences with riding on the highway and was wondering if there were more people who have had this. This has nothing to do with bad experiences with the motorcycle but with my mental state while driving. It now has occurred multiple times that I was driving...

General opinion on riding with backpack?

I have done it for years on my CBR and later on my NC. Never had any problems with it as long as it is secured properly. Always had the armstraps connected to each other so that the weight did not shift from side to side. It's not really ideal though. In the summer it traps the heat more and...

Making a run to the OREGON Coast and touring Lighthouses(if possible)!

o_O Wat was the weight of all that gear? I never try to go over the 10kg recommended for the topbox, and how visible was your rear light/brakelight? Nice pictures though!

Anyone used HiFlo air filter? opinion

Oh I have never said anything about real performance upgrades of using a high airflow filter. I did not dyno my bike before and after. All I said is that I believe it has more airflow because the surface area is larger than that of the OEM airfilter. And not because the function of filtering the...

Anyone used HiFlo air filter? opinion

I bought an K&N airfilter which is an high airflow filter. On the eye it did not look like the quality and size of the mesh was different than the stock Honda one. What was a big difference is the surface area of the airfilters. The OEM Honda filter was smaller than the K&N filter. Bigger...

    Engine management warning indicator

Had the error code 86 last year. It is an error that the combination meter (your "dashboard") is not plugged in properly. You can find my experience here: https://www.nc700-forum.com/threads/put-a-cheap-slip-on-my-nc-got-a-check-engine-light.16052/post-217398 and here...

    Tips to install battery

My battery comes with nuts that are big enough to hold itself in. You can probably buy the same nuts in the hardware store.

Long term effects of exhaust leak

I have used Aluminium tape to tighten the fit between my slip-on and the middle pipe: https://www.amazon.com/Aluminum-Tape-Foil-Professional-Contractor-Grade/dp/B01FROBUXE If you need to fill in a bigger fit, then you can always look for an exhaust gasket.

    Strategies for reducing footpeg vibrations?

Sounds a bit rigorous to me, but if you use longer bolts to compensate for the extra space it needs to bridge and they are high quality bolts than it should be fine. By the way, what boots are you wearing when you are riding? Do they have hard soles or soft ones? This could also make a difference.

    Strategies for reducing footpeg vibrations?

Yeah there is more rubber, but I also think that the wider pads make it less vibrating since the weight of your foot/boots are distributed over a larger area. I ordered these after an accident with a car where my OEM foot-peg was broken off. The OEM foot-peg broke off at the joint, I would be...

    Strategies for reducing footpeg vibrations?

I have these attached to my bike: https://sw-motech.com/en/products/ergonomics/footrests/4052572040652.htm#main Not cheap at all but in my 4000km vacation drive I had absolutely no problems. They can also be lowered and are wider which makes standing on them easier. If I see a "solution" of a...

Put a cheap slip on my NC, got a check engine light

Ok, a quick update: Last saturday I reinstalled my IXIL Hyperlow 3 slipon and went for a little drive, backroads and highway. No problems at all and everything sounded fine. Sunday I also went for a drive, backroads and highway also no problems. Today I went to work on my bike and after my...

Put a cheap slip on my NC, got a check engine light

Glad that I can help, I am curiouse to what you will find when you reconnect the combination meter and the number 13 of the connection on the ECM.

Put a cheap slip on my NC, got a check engine light

When looking at this diagram the 86 error comes from the Combination Meter (dashboard). However what is interesting is that the fuel pump unit's sensor goes from the combination meter to the ECM. Well i guess that it is the sensor wire (the left of the 3 wires) since it is a thin one but I am...

Put a cheap slip on my NC, got a check engine light

Hi everybody, I had the same problem: Bought an IXIL hyperlow 3 slip on, installed it. First 500km's where fine. Then I got the check engine warning light. So first I changed the airfilter to an K&N highflow and checked if my slip on was secured correctly. Next 100km again no problems but after...

    Grippier footpegs

I got those SW-MOTECH pegs but can't remember that they where that expensive! Checked the pricing I paid and it turned out to be around $114,- so maybe you can find them for a cheaper price. I really love them though, big enough to stand on them comfortably and you have the choice for the rubber...
