I think there was a recall on 2014 models for instrument cluster issues, so maybe your manual transmission bike accidentally had a cluster meant for a DCT ABS version swapped in by mistake?
Just a guess...
Unfortunately, I also, can't specifically say anything about the Airmada itself, but a buddy and I both got Icon Alliance SSR helmets (years ago, now) and were totally happy with fit, finish, and overall day to day use. Especially based on how low the price was! I've paid over 5 times the price...
I wouldn't let the odometer amount deter you from anything as far as the engine goes and the riding environment, more so simply how used to it and how comfortable you feel on the bike, prior to the test.
I don't have the quantity () of engines Greg has lol, but same end results with his observations after quite a few years of storing infernal combustion devices over the past 40+ years, sometimes for easily more than a year at a time.
Now having said that, individuals being what we are, do...
Objective. Yaaaaa, I don't really think so Happy. And there's absolutely nothing wrong with that- but I'm not convinced one can be entirely objective when it comes to wanting or owning any motorcycle. ;)
You've had your new BMW for about 850-ish kilometres so far?
Maybe get back to us after at...
I'm sooooo glad I checked, the other hassles notwithstanding! I was only past the inspection interval by a couple thousand miles, but 6 out of 8 valves were too tight, with only one intake on cyl #1 and one exhaust on cyl #2 being barely in spec.
I opened them all up to a lighter drag...
Simple valve check, oil change and antifreeze replacement, right?
Auuuugh!
Radiator support bracket bolt sheared off in the aluminum. The steel bolt had become one with the engine, combining to form a new element on the Periodic Table; Sonofa*****ium.
Also, I can no longer in clear...
Sounds like a "cowl setting nut 5mm" (aka "well nut" in older parlance)

D'oh! Missed seeing Mr. Lootzyan's post, but I'm pretty sure that is it :o
Ingenius! Simple, and effective.:D
For my Acerbis (knock offs, I think) hand guards, I wanted to retain the stock bar end weights, so I just slightly modified the hand guard supplied aluminum inserts, to mate with Honda's half moon receiver end sides.
I would call that on the left side (AKA clutch lever side) of the bike, and wouldn't that make it just one of the OEM power plugs that is available with the optional kit? Just taped up there in that location by either the previous owner or the dealer.
This would presume the bike was purchased...
Totally agreed with above----^
If *all* the valves are way out of spec too tight, it's almost guaranteed that the initial premise of crank/valve orientation was incorrect, or possibly mm versus thousandths of inch were accidentally transposed on the shims, etc.
I hope your new bike treats you better than the last one, (:( ) and you have many years of HAPPY and safe riding ahead! Don't be a stranger, and keep us informed with all the cool things discovered with the new black beauty :D
I've had more than my share of grim experiences with motorcycle dealerships in my day, but three of the nicest, most awesome and knowledgable people I've had the pleasure know, happen to have all been behind the parts counter at local shops. Two of them, Lori and Ben, have put up with me for...
