    High cost at the dealer

If you are getting an extra master link anyway. Consider getting one that is a different color then the chain. Using a different color master link makes it easy to tell if you have completely lubricated your chain.

NC 700 X specific Chain / Sprocket Set

I looked into the chain mentioned above. it's interesting that the same person (only 1) who reviewed the chain on Amazon, replied to a questions I have. Here was the answer. "It has a clip. I've never had a problem with them. This chain is wearing fast needing adjustment about every 300...

    Replacement Drive Chain Again.

I emailed this to Sprocket Center: "Hi Guys, I'm not getting as much chain life as I thought I should. I regularly make adjustments, and clean and lubricate my chain. I have a Honda NC700 and typically get 14,000-16,000 miles before having to replace my chain. That holds true even when...

    Replacement Drive Chain Again.

Beemerphile, Did you notice that the swingarm markings are way off (not even) when using the MotionPro Stick or Laser Gauge? I used the MotionPro Stick, but it indicated that I would have to move the wheel in such a way, that the markings would not only not be even on each side of the wheel...

NC 700 X specific Chain / Sprocket Set

StratTuner, That appears to be a good price. Like yourself, I tried high quality components and still don't get the mileage I would expect out of the chain. I got 2,000 more miles out of my high quality chain (16,000 mi) compared to the factory chain (14,000mi). I might try 90 weight oil...

    Replacement Drive Chain Again.

I got 14,000 miles from the factory Chain on my 2012 NC700. Replaced the chain with a DID 520 VX2, and the high quality sprockets from sprocket Center. With 16,000 miles on this chain, it's time for replacement (I have several kinks in the chain, which makes it impossible to properly adjust...

    older fat guy dreaming

For me the NC700 is a good choice. I’m also heavy at around 260lbs at 5’ 8” and 61 years old. The NC700 has one of the lowest, if not the lowest stock seat height of any adventure bike. It’s well balanced and with a low center of gravity being on your tiptoes at a light isn’t as much of a...

Rox 2" risers did wonders for me. I'm also the same height, and near the same age, but add 100lbs. :)

    older fat guy dreaming

I've had cruisers and I have my NC700X. I perfer my NC700X, because I wanted a bike, that I had more control over the road. I"m 61 5'8", 260lbx. So, I'm very heavy (fat). Doesn't seem to make much of a difference though. If You are looking for comfort, and a relaxing ride on roads that are...

Stay Alert -- Never Know What Is Coming Over The Hill

Was the motorcyclist speeding? I know that wasn't the cause of the potential tragedy. Just that when a driver in a car makes a mistake. Being alert, having good equipment, staying within the speed limit, and experience could make a difference. I think a bunch of us, could testify to that.

    Tyres worn!

Having a total of 3 PR4's now, I totally agree what people are saying about them. If You are looking for a premium tire, You wouldn't go wrong with the PR4's. The only time, I would not recommend them, is if, one wishes to go with a substantially less expensive tire. The extra mileage, good...

    Fare the well NC700x...

One reason I like the NC700 is that it's seat height was the shortest of all similar type of bikes. Every time I look at bikes with more engine displacement I'm disapointed in the taller seat height.

    Potential NC700X buyer....got a test drive

The main issue many people have with NC700 is the lack of power and performance compared to similar bikes. If You are okay with it's power and performance, I believe, You'll be very pleased with the bike. I have a 2012 with over 28,000 miles, and it's been very dependable, easy to maintain...

Not all extended Waranty Policies are the same.

Heard from Honda with their final decision. Hinda is not going to warranty the seat. Reason, It's a cosmetic item, and cosmetic items are only warrantied for 45 days after the sale.

Not all extended Waranty Policies are the same.

Hello Rand, Sorry about the late reply. Yes, I do commute with my bike, and I try to shelter it as much as I can at work. At home, it's in the garage. In hindsight, a cover would have been a good idea.
