2015: What did you do to/with your NC700 today?

Follow-up on the tire issue. It has been replaced. Local shop did the work, 502 MOTO, and did it for $120 (tire and labor) and even lubed and adjusted my chain as well. All in less than an hour - allowing me to not have to take time off work to get this done. Anyone in the Louisville, KY area, keep them in mind.

That is a good deal! The tire sells on-line with free shipping for $80. No extra points for adjusting the chain, however, since there's no way to reinstall the rear wheel without doing that.

He did show me what to look for in the chain and the tension. For me, it was extra points as I can now check and adjust on my own.

My son drove up from downstate to do some riding with me. I had my NC and he used my CRF250L. We did a bit of offroad and he went for a Sandy hill (nope, I didn't.) We did almost 100 miles... great day.

I installed a center stand today.

After reading about the installation procedure on this forum I figured I should be able to get it done with nothing more than an extra pair of hands or a borrowed ratchet strap. I wasn't able to wrangle up either and I still got it done by myself in 30-40 minutes. That included hunting around the basement for some thread lock and grease as well.

I did struggle a bit because of the springs but it wasn't too bad. I went for the alternate method mentioned at the end of the instructions and got it done. I generally don't consider myself to be too mechanically inclined. If anyone reading this is having second thoughts about being able to manage the install I say go for it.

Yesterday i took the NC into Germany this first movie is just time laps getting into Germany From Axel in the South west in the Netherlands, through Belgium then Limburg in the Netherlands (province).

400 mile round trip to Royal Gorge, Arkansas River. Rode through snow, rain, hail and bright sunshine. Thankfully it was mostly sunshine. You cannot beat springtime in Colorado.

ATGATT works. But I need to upgrade my insurance policy. I'm out of pocket for a new helmet, riding jacket, gloves and jeans. A 50 mph low slide after hitting an oil spill in a corner and I'm just a bit sore this morning. Drives home the ATG ATT point pretty well.

Great news that you are one of the smart ones wearing all the gear. The gear is the first level of insurance, the insurance company the next level to replace the gear after it serves its purpose.

Friday here is Walpurgis Night https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walpurgis_Night and that is a holiday so i have the day off from work. And i took Thursday off too. So i'm going to visit a friend in Kalmar Going to ride my NC there. I will be staying there from Thursday - Sunday. And he also rides a motorcycle so he is going to show me some good motorcycleroads I will be riding this route.
