Not a fan of the square instrument panel, though it is nice having a complete readout. Don't know how I feel about a scooter crossover adv bike--I'm not really a scooter guy....

at $12000 I dont think these will sell to well over here..
if I was going for a scooter I'd pick something better than that.
its like have a bike/scooter..not for me.

Yikes! I agree, $12k is way too much. Would rather get an AT at that price point.

I saw an X Adventure in the flesh today. I got to sit on it and even stand on the footboards which feels quite natural despite its scooter leanings. I have mentioned in the past that I can see myself returning to the NC fold in the future and probably on a DCT version. I will now modify that statement and suggest that the X Adventure will be probably the version of NC that I will chose. I must admit I am impressed enough to follow up with a test ride when one becomes available. Whether a test ride will fuel my enthusiasm or quench it remains to be seen.

If a earthquake does not destroy the plant, a Tsunami does not flood the entire plant, and Donald Trump does not elimate motorcycle trade with Japan - then some day the X-ADV might be sold in the USA.

The bike looks like a lot of fun and I think it is one of the better looking new bikes Honda has released in the past few years. I'm just bowled over by the enthusiastic reviews for a scooter from outlets like MCN. It has the 21 liters of frunk space that the NC has only it's under the seat like a proper scooter. The fuel tank looks like it sits under the very high step through with an access door to the fuel cap just in front of the seat. The best thing about the Silver Wing I owned was the ability to move around on the seat and change foot positions easily with no pedals to worry about. That feature alone made a Saddle Sore 1000 very doable on the SWing for this old codger. If it ever came to the US and sells for $12,000, I think I would have to wait a few years to find a used one within my reach.

It has some nice chops that the NC should have had: Tubeless spoke wheels; USD long travel suspension' dual discs; radial brakes'; a decent swing-arm. Even the Africa Twin should have launched with tubeless spokes. I think it has a lot going for it. A belt final drive and another gallon of fuel would have been nice. Oh, and maybe 100 lbs. less weight. Interesting.

I have no doubt Honda does fabulous market research, but I'd have NEVER guessed there'd be a market for a adventure scooter. It's interesting looking and seems quite capable.

If they bring this to the U.S. which I doubt very much they will, I will be very interested in getting one.

I am even more interested after seeing that clip. I see crashbars, offroad pegs, bashplate etc. I would like to see the extent of the suspension adjustments. The only downsides are the small wheels and the weight but it is a very attractive proposition as a hybrid. Hmmmmmmm
