Used my back up key today. Forgot the normal key in the change room for an x-ray. Figured out pretty quick when I got to the bike >.< It had a happy ending though. The key was found and turned into security :)

somewhat gusty 300-mile day near 100F at the peak, rode for about half the day with some Harley guys hailing from the northern end of Alberta, showed them some sights. Fast running on the straight stuff. Slower on the twisties but before we met 'em we'd already had a lot of fast hard-leaning twisties and had been passing a lot of vehicles probably more than we should have been. hard to hold that 1800cc Honda VTX back I guess ; }

Ridden it after 2 weeks of not riding. God I missed it, had other things on my head than riding :')
I knew I was rusty, and crossed a dotted line almost clipping a van.
Luckely no target fixation and had enough time to move out of the way.
There was gravel in the corner so actually I saved my *** by nearly crashing :')

I'm heading to the Raiders game on the NC with my wife.
105 miles from my house to the game.

My wife's first time on the motorcycle in months. She's warming up for our trip to Mexico next month

Edit: at the game to add the picture

Replace my stock chain at 16,790 miles. Was starting to need lube more often. It sounded and felt bad yesterday after a couple hundred miles, in spite of being cleaned and lubed just before. Contributing to its near demise was a small piece of red gravel caught up in the front sprocket cover just so, getting ground down into red dust. Sprockets still good but chain was out at the end of its recommended adjustment with slack set right, so it was time anyway. The Motion Pro PBR chain tool worked great.

Rode to Bardstown for fun. About 70 miles round trip. That is the furthest I have taken the bike since buying it late last month. Also went the fastest .... shhh....

Packed the bike for one night camping trip to St Louis area. Four of us are leaving tomorrow morning. On Monday we'll be chasing solar eclipse :cool::cool::cool:.

NC Porn

Time to give the machine a little love. Spent the morning doing some maintenance checks (oil, water, cleaned and re-lube chain, etc.) followed by an bi annual wash and detail. She looks ready for the 5 day man-cation in 2 weeks - a 5 day, 4 night ride south from Portland OR to Crater Lake (currently on fire) and back using nothing but back roads. I hope the fire conditions improve before I leave, but I am going none the less. Hope for the best. She and I are ready!

Wife and I took NC to Blossom Music Center for a concert. They have motorcycle parking right by the main gate... we jetted right as the oncore started and hit ZERO traffic... perfect end to the night.

Me and fellow riders went the other day for a ride to Euboea (on board GoPro to NC) :

I finally got around to fitting the Fender Extender I bought a few months ago. Also fitted a new screen. I purchased a second hand OEM screen on that auction site, cut it down, and painted the inside black. Looks good. I'll see if I have cut it to a good height to stop the buffeting. While I had the paint out I removed the front cowl and painted it black as well.

Need some pictures with this post

Checked the bike after 700 mile, two day camping trip. The only thing the bike needs is a chain lube. :D. BTW here are a couple pics from the trip. My NC was in a good crowd, including one cage.

Rode in today, and looks like the rest of the week may be the same. temps look great. This weekend, in Madison, IN is a vintage bike show on the waterfront, put on by Thorntons. Heading there Sunday morning with some of the Louisville Vintage Motor Works crowd. Should be an awesome weekend to be near the water and bikes all at once.
