I don't know much about crossing into Canada since I live wayyyyy far from there, but what is required of you to be able to pass into Canada? How does the border crossing work?

All you need is a passport or Nexus card. It's much easier than you think. I was in Buffalo this past weekend and crossed over just for a hotel. The rooms were much cheaper on that side of the border

Same thing that Doc said. Usually it is just a conversation. Purpose of visit, where are you going, how long are you staying, any weapons, drugs or alcohol. If your unlucky they will ask you to go inside for a longer conversation and inspect your vehicle.

That's pretty cool. My dad told me of a guy he knew that had a lot of trouble at the Canadian border somewhat recently so I wondered about that. Said he had capability of working from home so had his laptop pc with him among other things while I assume was on vacation, they asked to see his computer and ended up keeping it or something crazy like that. Didn't make a lot of sense and may have been exaggerated or even wrong, but ever since I pictured the Canadian border being similar to the Mexican border. Lol.

You know Google says Niagara is only 13hrs from Northern AL. That's a leisurely 2 day ride

Maybe one day! Seriously, that would be a cool trip. I love visiting places of natural beauty, especially waterfalls. Niagara would be awesome. You may have given me something to mark off the bucket list!

So I just looked it up, close to 900 miles. I think one day when I finally take a whole week off of work for a bike trip, I will do a Mon-Fri trip to Niagara Falls....also saw where they have a casino there, Seneca Niagara Casino....and I like to gamble....would be a great place to get a room for a night. What an awesome idea for a trip! If next summer is less busy than this one is, I may take off and go! I have plenty vacation time at work, so that isn't an issue.

The process is as described above. No big deal really so long as you have a passport.

Absolutely no weapons. Guns, mace, large knives. Big trouble if you have one. I hear even some Bear Sprays are not approved for Canada and can be confiscated. I crossed with camping gear, pocket knife and a hatchet without issues.

I have heard that if you are carrying extra fuel, it has to be in an approved container that has clear labeling that it contains gasoline.

Close to the border crossing, some stores may accept US currency but not all. Away from the border you must have a credit card or Canadian currency. I recommend having a card with the chip and a PIN number.

When I crossed with a friend on motorcycles, coming back into the US they asked my friend to pull forward and they questioned us separately to make sure our stories matched.

Also, call your insurance agent and ask for a proof of insurance for Canada. Makes things much easier if you get pulled over or have an accident.

I'm sure there are a ton of things like this I need to learn before an endeavor like that. It's really sparked my interest thinking about it. As for card, would Visa debit card with chip work? Or does it have to be credit? I have never had and do not want a credit card.

Also, do you have to cross into Canada to visit Niagara Falls? Looking on Google Maps, it looks like most is all on the US side. Or is the best spots/views on the Canadian side?

Your debit card will work fine. You can see the falls from the US side. If you wanted to get close to the horseshoe falls (its the more impressive side) you'll have to cross into Canada. There's probably exceptions made for the tourist boats that go right up to the falls. I'm not sure about that though. I never really considered them.

Toronto is a very nice city, and is a reasonable distance from the falls. It's worth a detour

The US dollar trades at a premium so you are better off using debit, credit or a currency exchange. You get about 1.30 in $CAD Any smart retailer would accept dollars at par or trade at a reduced exchange rate.

Man I wish I was off today, weather is perfect! Went up and rode through the canyon again, man it is so nice to be able to tear up the curves again! 2nd to the ZX10R that I crashed back in 2010, this NC is my favorite bike I have ever owned!

I bet I have passed by this little spot on the way out the back of the canyon road about 100+ times over the years and never have stopped in because I am unsure if it is private or what? There is a rock house behind this that is built very similar and Idk if someone lives in it or not. Today, I said "Im gonna swing in really quick for some pics and be gone". Very cool place, wish I knew some history on it. Literally know nothing about it, other than it's old as hell.

And like most all rides during the week, they end at work. Hooray for work. Lol.

Got about 150 miles on the Seat Concepts. Its probably gonna be a keeper. It still takes fidgeting around to find the right spot, but when I find it, it is good to go. And that's probably more my overweight arse's fault rather than the seat itself. So I'm happy with my $135 investment.

Left work early and home enjoying some Friday craft beers. Been a beautiful day out!

Installed a set of Pirelli Scorpion Trail ll yesterday and took a 3 1/2 hour ride today. The tires road great on the dry pavement - not really a challenge for any tire [emoji16]

I went with the pirelli’s because there just isn’t much out there in a 90/10 or 80/20 tire that is sized for our 17” front wheel. I only do occasional fire roads, nothing serious. Wanted to get a bit more light off road capability than the PR4s I had on.

Just installed the center stand (that has been sitting around since Aug 2018 waiting to get done). Now on to chain lubrication and adjustment!

I also like the Pirelli Scorpion II tires for great traction and handling but I only got 5-6000 miles from them.

That’s what I’ve heard.

The Michelin Road5 Trail’s (“PR5”) are now available in the US but really expensive and sizes are limited. I love the PR4 so I’ll be inclined to try the Road5 once the Pirellis wear out (and hopefully the Michelin prices drop and sizing is more availability).

Done a lot of mowing today and when I got done I figured hey while I am already hot and sweaty, might as well roll the NC out and give it its first bath since I have owned it. Got it all clean (minus parts of the rear wheel/swingarm area), then rode it to my parents' to meet everyone for Father's Day dinner, on way home ran through about 4 million large bugs around 9pm. They were terrible! Funny how that works. Lol. Lots of large pastures and farm land on my road, so bugs get bad at dark around here. I hate summer. Heat, grass to mow, and bugs. Two thumbs down.
