Watched the weather report this morning.

8" of snow coming my way. Starting late tonight. Ending Wednesday.

Yeah ... not so much.

Haven't ridden since superbowl Sunday. With the rain and cold, I just haven't wanted to get on it. This morning was raining, but this afternoon should be sunny and dang near 70F! I'll be going out for a ride after work, no doubt.

Got another new Dunlop Q3 rear in stock lol. Bought the old model Q3 this time instead of Q3+, $135 shipped. Hard to beat. It will be chewed up in a few months. Haha.

Started out at 36F, finally broke 58 as I got into typically warmer region hours later, before getting gusty and colder again. Thanks $129 (on closeout) Olympia Richmond jacket and Oxford Montreal 3.0 pants for thermal layers and vents, and Alpinestars Belize boots and Hippo Hands over my unlined gloves – taking it all in stride. The setup does well in prolonged hard rain too, as I've previously found out.

237 miles. Saw some roadside snow in shady areas and on mini-passes but mostly dry and fast roads. It was a great day if not overly sunny! Got my speed blasts, twisty rolls, and my sights. Aaaaaaaaaallllllrrrrrrighty!

Meant to put up more photos from Friday's ride yesterday but got sidetracked. Anyway, here they are, culminating as it got dark in cutting a 20-foot trench in the inclined grass/mud curving up to my motorcycle shed. Began to wonder if I was going to make it ; }

Yesterday was a perfect day for riding - slight breeze, 60+, sunny with a few clouds. Headed out a little after 11 AM (when it got over 50 deg). Had to see if our Cycle Gear had a replacement mic for my Sena (plug got torn off). They didnt. It was still a little chilly, but that is fine. Went by a car dealer (have to get a new car soon) and spend about 30 minutes asking some questions. I havent shopped for a new car in 20 years... After that, I wanted to head and grab a beer somewhere. Didnt really plan a long ride, but a few shorter ones. On my way, I ran into another inmate and we headed to grab a beer at a local micro brew. Sat in the sun, had a beer and relaxed. He headed home after that, I headed back out, just aimlessly riding. Ended up at Retro Wrench, to ask a couple questions if they were in. Lucked into getting in on a ride with them throughout the county for a couple hours. We went by where I lived, so I turned off (it was nearly 5) and went to get food. They continued on.

My goal was simple yesterday. See if I could notice the new engine guards, and see if they would support my GoPro. I didnt really notice the guards (weight wise, or visually). It does make a nice, low angle to mount the GoPro. I am going to play with it and see the best spots. Still need to find a GOOD spot for it looking behind.

I could deal with more days on the weekends with weather like that!

Today was the first day of 2020 I was able to commute to work on the 750X. We have had so much rain in the Southeast this year it has been tough to find a decent day to ride. I know, buy a rainsuit! Just haven't done that yet....

Tacoma; thanks, I drive thru Chattanooga 2-3 times a year and didnt know that view was there...but I do I-24 on my way to Florida each time (came down hwy 27 once on the bike-didnt see the bluff then either).

Downtown Chattanooga is one of my favorite spots to go for scenery and good eats and fun things to do. I usually go up there once every couple weeks. Was up there Saturday night on a date, ate at Public House, phenomenal dining experience.

You have to get off 27 and get down in around Market and Broad streets, and over across the bridge which is where Coolidge Park is. It is a beautiful city.

Ordered some new (different) track tires, the new Pirelli Supercorsa TD. Supposed to be competition for and better than the Dunlop Q4, which is a DOT race tire that doesn't require tire warmers to maintain operating temp. Ready for them to arrive and get em mounted!

I done a trackday at Tally this past Saturday on a 50% worn rear and the front has had 5 total trackdays on it. Both were shot by the end of the day. I am riding faster trying to keep up with the faster guys in Intermediate group. Felt the front slide on me a couple different times and the rear felt like it was getting "greasy", so I called it a day after 4 sessions before something crazy happened and I crashed out. Was a fun day though. Next 3 trackdays will be at Barber in each of the following 3 months, probably won't go back to Tally for a while.
