The BMW C 400 X is one of BMW’s practical urban mobility solutions. It’s a European-made, lightweight small-capacity scooter with enough grunt and road presence to make city riding a breeze. As one of the smallest models in the 2021 BMW line-up, the C 400 X may not have the same sex appeal as the S 1000 RR or R 1250 GS, but for urban commuters, it’s a far superior choice.
Unlike almost all other BMW motorcycles, the C 400 X uses a small single-cylinder engine. With a displacement of 350cc, this liquid-cooled single produces a surprising amount of power, such as 34 horsepower, 26 lb-ft of torque, and the ability to push the C 400 X to speeds of up to 86 mph. Effortless CVT transmission makes using that power easy.
Despite being small in stature, the C 400 X is big in features. ABS, ASC (Automatic Stability Control), Torque Control Assist, and adjustable rear suspension come as standard, along with LED lighting, an on-board computer, USD forks, and a stainless steel exhaust system.
