2022 Honda CRF450RL: The Street-Legal Gold Standard
After a large update that came to the CRF450L last year, the CRF450RL continues to steam on into 2022 as Honda Motorcycle’s flagship “on-road” street-legal dirtbike. This highly capable Japanese street machine has been derived from Honda’s most successful line of offroad models; the CRF450 to be exact.
By taking everything that is right about the CRF450, Honda has brought the recently updated CRF450RL up to speed for their 2022 lineup with the addition of some key changes that came in 2021. In order to fit the larger transmission (to allow for comfortable highway riding), the frame has been widened. This 6-speed transmission is also paired with Showa forks and Pro-Link suspension located in the rear to ensure that this motorcycle remains highly capable for trail riding.
A recently updated crankshaft brings the 2022 CRF450RL’s total horsepower to 41.7, produced through its 449cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine. This torque-heavy mill has been tuned with the perfect balance in mind; road riding, and trail shredding.
The 2022 Honda CRF450RL starts at $9,999 USD / $12,199 CAD.
