The Suzuki GSX-S1000 Returns in a New Avatar for 2022
Contents
The 2022 Suzuki GSX-S1000 brings the most significant updates the motorcycle has received since it debuted in 2015. The updated GSX-R1000 derived engine features new camshafts, valve springs, throttle bodies, and several electronic rider aids. The Japanese manufacturer has also made major changes to the bike’s aesthetics, and the modern, more aggressive design will draw in buyers. The GSX-S1000 also acts as the base for the GSX-S1000GT/GSX-S1000GT+ in the 2022 Suzuki motorcycle lineup.
The 999cc inline-four engine produces 150 hp at 11,000 rpm and 78lb-ft of torque at 9,250 rpm. These may not be the most impressive numbers by today’s standard, but Suzuki has done an excellent job tuning the engine for smooth and linear power delivery.
Suzuki has equipped the new GSX-S1000 with an alloy beam frame, inverted KYB forks, Brembo four-piston front brake calipers, and a Nissin single-piston caliper at the rear. Electronics aids include a new LCD dash, three ride modes (Active, Basic, Comfort), and Suzuki Traction Control System (STCS) with 5-levels of intervention.
The 2022 Suzuki GSX-S1000 starts at $11,299 USD / $13,999 CAD.
