Day 309..weather forecasters really fooled me today. Supposed to be cloudy all day. I took off and 10 miles into the ride the rain came. Rained for the rest of the 46 mile ride. Another rain bath! lol

16 days to go

Bike is back in one piece and I rode it in to work this morning. I need a bit more time with the new suspension setup to form a proper opinion, but for now I will say I'm happy with how everything turned out, and everything went back together without any problems, missing (or leftover) parts, or any major issues.

Hi, I'm new to the forum awaiting delivery of my 2018 NC750X DCT ABS on 12/22/22. What brand Engine guard/crash guard is shown in this picture? Thanks in advance.

Hi, did you replaced o-ring due to the oil leak? or coolant? i think i have same leak problem with you and It seems oil leak.
Hi @Ahn , mine was a coolant leak. I was actually coming online to post an update. The leak returned within a couple hundred miles. Nothing to cause me to stop riding, just enough to notice - i.e., ride it almost600-Mike's I'm a s weekend and only needs a coupe ounces to to off the reservoir Investigating further, I realized the leak was coming from the weep hole. I guess just another item gone bad because previous owner left it sitting for a coupe years or so. Anyway, after the realization, I ordered a new water pump assembly from Partzilla.com ($258, delivered within a week). I'm leak-free with about 300-miles on it.

Those are the R-Gaza engine bars (the smaller ones), that are talked about very positively here. Might be hard to find new right now as the seller is from Russia.

Yes the weep hole that is on most water pumps will show when the mechanical seal is not sealing properly. These seals are carbon based and actually get lubricated by the antifreeze mixture seeping by. When the seep turns to a leak they need replacement. Sometimes these leaks will come and go before complete failure. Most newer coolant use a low/no silicate formula the silicate is a salt that has silicon. Mechanical seals do not like it. Its not a good day for me but the bike in the garage yesterday for the winter. The good part is its on the lift where it will be getting its biannual service. Valve adjustment, oil change, coolant flush with the new "blue" Honda coolant.

Day 311 ... 34 degrees, cloudy, blustery and intermittent snow flurries for today's 55 mile ride. I need 418 miles to break 20,000 miles for the year and coincidentally 427 miles to reach 23,000 on my 2021 NC-DCT. We'll see if the weather holds up

It's certainly going to be... Friday predicted low of 1 high of 24, Sat low of -3 high of 9, Sunday low of 3 high of 15, and Mon low of 5 and high of 25. Snow predicted Thur and Fri. These are conditions that will test your mettle lol. If the roads are clear I will be riding. However, chances are, with that level of cold the road surfaces will be below freezing and any snow is going to accumulate in which case I won't be riding until they are cleared.

That's not the Viking Rider image I have of you in my mind's eye. I figured you had how to overtake snowplows engrained in muscle memory!

Unrelated but I'll go on a short ride with my wife today; I'll be on the NC and she will be on my Xmax. I may have mentioned this, but I've put a deposit down on a BMW C400GT (I've never seen one but like it on paper and, believe it or not, it is the only way to get a test ride). I told her I would be selling the Xmax and out of the blue she is interested in riding again, but no "big" bikes, and she told me to let her decide before I sell it. She has not ridden since before her cancer diagnosis, so my fingers are crossed!

Another aside, the scooter form factor is becoming my favorite.

My wife has a Pcx150 and she lov:(es to ride. We even took the safety course here in PA together.
The problem is she took a very small little fall doing about 5 miles an hour over some slick yellow lines. Now she is scared to ride, she loves it but is scared at the same time.
See is especially afraid of all the dumbass motorists that drive like idiots. Of you think motorists don’t see motorcycles, ride a scooter..

That is an interesting point. I’ve got a couple of thousand miles on the Xmax and haven’t noticed a difference in my conspicuity compared to the NC based on driver behavior. The NC is 87 x 33 x 50 and the Xmax is 86 X 31 X 55. Similar mass might have something to do with my experiences. But I see your point which is absolutely a valid consideration and I’m not in disagreement at all. My wife quit riding after a bad day where we were forced into the shoulder 3 times in one ride because of inattentive drivers.
