The 2022 Zero SR/F Is a Naked EV with More Torque than a Ducati Panigale V4
Contents
The 2022 Zero SR/F sits alongside the flagship Zero SR/S in their 2022 lineup. It’s essentially a naked version of the Zero SR/S, meaning that there are only cosmetic differences between the two. Most noticeably, the SR/F misses out on the full fairing from the SR/F, and this has also brought about a different headlight and redesigned tank panels. The rear of the bikes is also different, and the SR/F features a shorter tail section.
Beyond the visual differences, the two motorcycles are mainly identical. That means the Zero SR/F features the same battery and powertrain, which received some significant updates for 2022.
You can now upgrade the new ZF batteries to offer 20 percent more capacity, and they come in a new die-cast aluminum design that enables better thermal management and weatherproofing. Like before, the bike is available in two variants — Standard and Premium. In Standard trim, you get a ZF14.4+ (kWH) battery, and in Premium spec, you get access to the ZF15.6+ (kWh) battery pack. An optional Power Tank add-on ups this number to an impressive 20.9kWh.
Despite the lack of the aerodynamics that the fairing and windshield offer on the SR/S, Zero Motorcycles claims that the SR/F can deliver an identical range. In the top-spec (including the Power Tank), the Zero SR/F will take you 227 miles in the city and 113 miles (at 70mph) on the highway.
The Z-Force 75-10 motor 110hp and a maximum torque of 140 ft-lb, enough to propel the bike to a top speed of 124mph.
This year, the American manufacturer also updated its Cypher operating system. Owners of the 2022 Zero SR/F will get access to the Cypher III+ Operating System that now offers downloadable, real-time updates from a new Cypher Store. Here, you can pay a little extra to purchase performance updates like added performance, lower charge times, and a whole lot more.
The 2022 Zero SR/F starts at $20,095 USD / $25,895 CAD.
