Well called every lock Smith trying to find someone to be able to cut my key blanks.
I only have one key. Not one could do it so far.the one thing they offered was a new ignition set. Those with the new type of key make sure to keep key code written down.
Honda does not have a record of your code. Called 3 States dealers they uses Lock Smith's
The smiths don't have the machine or program for the machine. I'm so bummed.
That's what I tried to Do today.
I can't recall what year NC you have. If you have the "dumb" keys like mine, my local locksmith measured my existing key and guesstimated the key code, cut a blank, and we tried it. The first iteration was off but the second iteration was spot on so he gave me the spare and the key code for future use.

Mine is a 2020.
I'm not giving up yet. But my key is not cut into the edge but carved into the flat sides of the blank not like a normal key.
I know I have to pull the ignition on the bottom is the code still a pain in the seat of my pants.

I have the wave key and the local Mr Lock cut mine. It cost $45 iirc but he was able to do it. I think Ace Hardware stores can do it too if you have a good key for them to copy and the proper blank

I also have a 2013, the key blank is an HD109. I went to Rural King, they had HD109 key blanks and the guy just put it in his little key duplicator machine and a minute later had a new key (I had 2 made, one for spare and one I used to make my custom frunk key-which stays in the frunk lock).

Left the house with the intent of joining the motorcycle club for breakfast. But dark clouds were rolling in from the west so I skipped the breakfast in order to go for a ride. I was able to ride for over 1.5 hours before getting caught in the rain for a half an hour. Finished up with a damp one hour ride home. A total of 135 miles for the day.

It's nice to have a washed bike .
Pull it in wipe it down. Just kidding 😂. Glad you had a ride.

Day 72...finally....after 4 days of torrential rain which flooded 80% of our town, I was able to get out for a 57-mile ride @ 55 degrees and clear. Couldn't get near the river on any of the north-south roads leading to it, all closed to flooding. What a mess.

Rode to my cardiologists appointment in the rain. I left the helmet and gloves in the frunk. Before I stepped on the scale I handed off my leather jacket. I was still wearing my boots and riding pants when the PA weighed me. Surprise, I gained 12# in the last 6 months. Doh! My doc notice the comment in my chart and smirked because she had already seen the big boots and pants. Had a nice laugh about it. 7 miles total for the day.

Day 74 ...ran yesterday's loop in reverse, which made all the ups, downs.... all the downs, ups .... all the lefts, rights .... and all the rights, lefts. That way I get even wear on my tires 😂

42 miles @ 50 degrees and overcast

Hooked up electrical today lol.
Why does everyone think the battery under the seat .
Well most bikes are where to put extra wires 🧐
Oh well

Added a tankpad to my 2025 model. Aliexpress, but actually a legit (and pretty expensive) kit. The kit has domed stickers for a large part of the tank, but thats too much.

Made an appointment to get my 1.000 kilometer check-up.
Will be getting navigation hardwired as well at the same time, the Roadsync (iphone) is not up to the task.

Mounted a radiator protector.

Added a set of Grip Puppies (foam grips that cover the stock grips and counter vibrations).

Ordered a mount to have my navigator positioned on the handlebar clamp.

Plus a few parts like rimstriping, vinyl wrap (couple of samples to match the red).

Day 75 .... Nicest day in a week I think. Got in a 40 miler @ 65 degrees and partly sunny

Hit 700 miles, so I decided to do the oil change. I did all of the maintenance on my 2014, but I've decided to let the dealer do the valve adjustments.
I thought this would be a breeze, because I've done it many times. I didn't have a crush washer for the filter, so I had to go to the dealer to get one. Had a hard time getting the lower cowl off, because of the boss that holds the wire to the sensor on the exhaust. Don't remember having to do that. They as I read the shop manual I discovered I need to return to the dealer for a seal on the cover for the small filter. Don't remember that either. I'll go to get that tomorrow. Dealer is already classed today. Live and learn.
