Well.

We certainly didn’t have long to wait, did we.

The day before yesterday, we covered some juicy gossip connected to BRP’s new patents filed for an electric lineup. If you’re still catching up, a reminder that the patents showed an electric platform (similar to LiveWire’s upcoming Arrow platform), as well as the potential for a handful of different motorcycle genres to result from the versatile build.

Two short days later, and BRP has officially dropped news of their electric motorcycle lineup – and it looks like there will be at least four models to swing a leg over when the fleet is finalized.

I’m grinning like an idiot, so let’s get into it.

The report from PRNewsWire states that the fleet will be coming to the industry for mid-2024, with a number of sexy little silhouettes teasing the advert screen. Judging from the bike profiles, we’re going to get a naked(ish?) sporty offering, an adventure-inclined model (in this economy how could they not), as well as a few other murky, touring-inspired shapes that bring Can Am’s iconic three-wheeled machines to mind.

“With the motorcycle industry shifting to electric, we saw an opportunity to reclaim our motorcycle heritage and to re-enter the market,” enthuses José Boisjoli, President and CEO of BRP.

“This new product category is extremely important to us, and we are thrilled that Can-Am motorcycles are the first EV models in BRP’s electric lineup to be confirmed to consumers.”

“Many of us have very fond memories of riding the early dirt bike models, and now we look forward to building on the rich history of the Can-Am brand to inspire and impress a new generation of motorcyclists and electric vehicle enthusiasts.”

We can’t wait to see what’s next. BRP’s homage to Can-Am’s two-wheeled past by connecting with future key markets is beyond clever in our books – now to fill up those books with specs…

The Lineup was revealed? I'm having trouble seeing it.

Two years down the road is a long time. It might happen, and might not. I'm sure they will be happy to take a deposit on something they show you a picture of.
