At long last the day came when I needed to figure the volume of a cylinder.

I want to raise the oil level in the forks about 10 mm. The ID of the fork is about 39 mm.

I figure the amount of oil I need to add is just about 12 cc. Correct?

cm^3 = cc
10mm = 1cm
3.14 * 1.95cm^2 = 11.94cm^2
11.94cm^2 * 1cm = 11.94cm^3

Not sure my formula for area of a circle is correct 100%, but that should be right...?
Edit: I used diameter, fixed to use radius.

39/2 gives radius
Square that and multiply by pi is the area of a circle.
Multiply by 10 gives you volume in mm^3.
Divide by 10^3 to get cc.

Sorry, the formatting sucks, I'm on my phone.

Thanks mr mr, I thought it seemed off, realized probably about the time you started writing to correct me. lol
